Replacing the Headlight "Glass" & Turn Signal on a 1994-2000 Mercedes W202 C230

Siri Emerald here,
I had to shave off a little piece of it on the part you squeeze together. at 0:41 you can see what you will need to shave off. There is a big Square piece on the top of that which you squeeze. On the very left of that big square piece is a little tab that locks into the Metal Fender Frame. It is too thick on the Replacement Part. I shaved it off a few millimeters and it snapped in perfectly fine. At 11:14, you can see on the Original where the piece is that you wills have thinner on the replacement. it is about a cm from my thumb.

My corner lamp assembly took me less than a minute to install. I started from the front where the two plastic clips are and it slid right in place on the very first try. If you start from the rear without inserting the 2 front clips you will be at this all day and you'll break the assembly.

Correct. The problem with this corner lamp was in the actual design of it. The "locking clip" wasn't the same size as the original. I had to modify the clip and it then locked in perfectly. I explained that in the description info under the video.

All you have to do, replacing the blinker inside marker lens. It's the play a little bit of Vaseline on where the alignment Tabs are! It's that simple! takes about 2 minutes!

To help install the signal component, make sure you slid both plastic clips in the slot first. Then tap in gently toward inside....

Yeah I did that, the problem was in the actual design of that replacement part. The "locking clip" wasn't the same size as the original. I modified the clip and it locked in perfectly. I explained that in the description info under the video.

I get a lot of compliments and questions if I replaced my headlights. It’s 22 year glass that’s been detailed. They shine like glass should shine. The turn signals over the years not so much. They fall out while driving if there old.

You know that the prefacelift model has diffrent glass part and they dont go together. this video only works for 97-01 W202. Its alomost the same proses with 93-97 prefacelift. but the glass has frame with the glass and gont have that grove on the botom part of the glass. was here to confirm that when i started to look glass to my facelift model, i had changed one in prefacelft. and w202 c mercedes was made in years 93-2001. But great video overall :D

5.20 the last clip for the glass reflector lens u put in, bottom right corner near the central bonnet grill (right next to the broken screw of the bottom trim), isnt sat in properly.

Did you ever find where you could order the little part underneath the headlight assembly that you said you needed to replace i am currently looking for one and cant seem to find one anywhere.

I did not seek one out. We have a Mechanic that owns a Mercedes Repair Shop here in town... Silver Star. www.mbzsilverstar.com/ ... Anything that I need that I can't find we give him a call. Look him up. My wife is wanting to sell this Mercedes as a matter of fact. 135,000 miles

After you contacted the company did they send you a new one or did you have to modify it to make it fit?

They sent another, but it still needed to be modified no matter

I replaced my corner light and headlight, the headlight brights only with now...the lamps are new...would that be a fuse issue or bulb issue?

Haha yeah, those blinkers don't want to go in. Had to ram them hard with my knee.

I have the same car and just upgraded the lights, the newer turn signal clips arnt bent out enough to meet up with the Chanel that the clips go into just bend them out

I cant believe its possible to open this headlight so easy. In mine I noticed that on the side of the high beams inside they mist up with moisture. What could be the cause ?

crack or hole someplace. The lens, the seal or the housing.

That's what happens when you buy an aftermarket indicators....it's common in w202....don't waste your money... always buy genuine indicators for your w202

Triple Check dem indicators. Mine flew off 2 times on the highway whilst I was sure they were in properly. Guess they werent

after I made the adjustment to the "locking" piece, I haven't had an issue. Before making the adjustment, they wouldn't "Seat" properly, and I had a feeling that they could easily pop out. But now they "Snap" in perfectly

Frustrating to watch you struggle with the turn indicator. Practice first before doing a video. Makes me think I don’t want to do this.

Real World Struggle. Turns out the indicator didn't fit. I had to modify it to make it fit, so keep that in mind should you need to buy one, you will need to modify it first.
