Replacing the pleated folding blinds and fly screens on our windows

After two and a half years of dusty roads and camp sites it was time to replace the pleated folding blinds and fly screens on some of the van windows.
I was able to orders just the inside part of the window which holds the two blinds from Ranger RV Supplies
Quite an easy job taking us around 2 hours to do the three windows and the roof hatch.

Hi Andrew. In regards to cleaning your fly screens. Here in NZ we can buy 'Cyclon Multi' in an aerosol can. It's manufactured by 'Diversey Australia'. It sprays a foam, leave it for 5 or so minutes then hose off. You may need a soft brush while the foam is on to shift stubborn dirt. Works real good. You may be able to wash in situ carefully hosing off (low pressure) from the inside out.

Hi Chris. Thanks for the tip, having a foaming cleaner is a great idea and you could wipe it off or even blow it out the window, we have one window fly screen that is still very dusty so I will give this a go. Great tip 👍👍 Cheers Andrew & Lisa

Great advice, we have an older van so it doesn't relate to our van though. Can you please do a video of your games/books you read that I saw on your shelf? Also, have you used your Australian bird book much while travelling. Love seeing your adventures. Enjoy home for a while until you get itchy feet again.

Hi StefLin, That's not a bad idea to do a vid on the games and other things we do to pass the time, I'll have a look into that. Andrew has become a bit of a bird fan especially since the new camera. Great job! Is it possible to get blinds/screen that don’t have the pleats? We have a terra sportz too, and the windows are the worst part!! 🤦‍♀️

Hi Allison, You can definitely get non pleated screens but whether they will fit your window frames or not will be the big question. I have seen screens that will mount around the existing windows, but I don't know any details. Looks like a Google search session might be the way to track down some information. Thanks for the video guys, we have the same problem with our windows! Do you have a link to the website you used to buy the new windows? Most of the sites we have found don’t seem to be the most legitimate or they are in a foreign language! Thank you! Keep the videos coming!

Hi Guys, thanks for dropping us a line. We sourced the widows from Ranger RV Supplies, who supply a lot of van manufacturers. They are a little difficult to get action from, so you just need to keep on their backs. Hi Sharon. Thanks for dropping us a line. You were close, Lisa , amung various other jobs, worked in the education system in administration at one of the Perth private schools. I was in the marine industry, a captain on the Rottnest island ferries and for Austal Ships and a few other rolls along the way.. So glad you enjoy the vids 👌 Cheers Andrew & Lisa

2 years, I do not think that's acceptable. I have the same blinds in my caravan and they are rubbish. Fishing line used to keep tension to blind and bugs enter from the sides of the flysceen/blind. Looking at replacing them with different brand.

Hi John, agree 100%, these blinds are not the greatest, especially when you head off road and start playing in the dust. If you find a good substitute please let us know I'd be very interested. Cheers Andrew
