(joey's red-eyes, hasleberry's dark driceritops, crow's nothung, shark's shark fortress, shingo's monarch)

+LeAndre McCoy Not necessarily Yugi's rival is Kaiba as Kaiba is just as strong as yugi and has beaten yugi more than once this makes him his rival. Yusei has also lost to jack as he is just as strong as yusei Jadan has also lost to Zane but has never lost to Chazz, and the only time it was close was the first time he fought with the new cards. there is a lot of stuff you could argue but when it comes down to it Chazz could never beat jadan in a duel but Zane could, chazz;s rival might jadan but jadans rival isnt Chazz but then again you could also argue that his rival is aster phoenix for the same reason

Hayden McTurk actually, episode 165, chazz was poised to win his duel against jaden, but threw the match to get Aster's prized card back, which would only happen if he lost the duel. even more actually, Kaiba has only beaten yugi once and that was by forcing him to forfeit, not dueling. the title of "rival" is not given to the duelist that beat the protagonist the most times because that never happens outside of Arc-V. like ever. The rival is the deutragonist, or second main character/secondary protagonist. That's Kaiba in duel monsters, chazz in gx, jack in 5D's, Kite in Zexal, and Reiji in Arc-V. or that title is given to the character with the best dueling skills/potential outside of the main character. That's Kaiba, the second best duelist in the world, in duel monsters. Chazz, the top student in duel academy and first to go pro, in gx. Jack, the king, in 5D's. Kite, the number hunter who's only ever lost in a flashback and to the main villain in the entire series, in Zexal. Reiji, owner of the LDS dueling academy (top dueling academy) and best duelist, leader of the lancers, and guy who consistently owns the main character in duels. the rival is the best, either by ability, rep, or both before the protagonist shows up.

To be 100% honest I would rather watch jaden play against Aster or Zane rather Chazz. Chazzs deck isn't as interesting as Zanes or Asters as well as there is still a chance that they would win against the protagonist and I didn't really watch the series after gx as card games on motorcycles wasn't as interesting Zexal was weird and Arc-v doesn't look to bad but the preforming is just odd. But I could never see Chazz as the rival he isn't nearly as good as some of the other duelist he just seems to be lacking something. kaiba was a Bad ass remember that episode where he threw his blue-eyes to save tea. it might just be because I have always sort of looked at kaiba being similar to Zane thus seeing him as a rival

Hayden McTurk yea. zane was hyped up and thought he couldn't lose. then aster beat him and all he did was lose afterward. he wanted to grow stronger, so he went dark and still lost. chazz was the best and thought himself unbeatable too until jaden gave him a taste of reality. instead of going dark and searching for power like zane did, he learned there is power in even the weakest of cards (ojama) and he even got a duel spirit (ojama yellow). Chazz got better at dueling because of his evolution and zane got worse. then Chazz defeated the duelist that sent zane down. Chazz is a better duelist than aster and zane and his character growth makes him a far better character than zane imo. aster, on the other hand, is barely even in the series and only serves to measure characters' strength against a pro.

Zackbeetle I think it's aster and that yuma's is kaito, bcoz in arc v only antagonists joined yuya: aster(edo) kite(kaito) and jack atlas

Actually that is how Yusei plays. He uses traps to delay or counter his opponent's moves through out the 5d's series. Most of them well timed, most not all as his duel with Harold managed to mess up.

Alonzo Muñoz I agree. It should have been kaito because Shaek had no goals with the number cards and out of all the humans who wanted those numbers, Yuma and kaito are the ones to stick out because kaito wanted to help his brother and yuma wanted to help astral with those cards.

Edgar Gonzales true however shark has faced Yuma more times than kite has and faced off against him for the fate of 3 worlds.

Chazz was a stinking joke. A rival should be a challenge you have to over come. Chazz wasn't that.

The visitor101 Chazz gave Jaden a few close calls in their first couple of matches and pretty much had him beat in their final match but he threw the match for Aster. As far as the other protagonist and rivals it's half and half. Yugi either beat Kaiba in all of their matches or had him beat. Yusei's story is the same as Yugi's. Defeated Jack in every match they had or had him beat. Yuma's never defeated Kaito and said he was his goal. Yuya's so far yet to legit defeat Reiji. He only won their first match because Reiji leaving to deal with Kurosaki's attacks on LDS.

+The visitor101 Chazz could handle any deck instantly. He was a spiritual duelist. That are qualities which barely any Ygo character has. Atem and Yusei showed the ability to be able to use any deck like Chazz. Judai and Yuma (and other characters) were spiritual duelists. He has a bit from the first four main characters.

+TheShapeH31 Yusei was defeated by Jack in a flashback. Yuma dueled Kaito not in the second season. He would have won against kaito in a duel in season 2.

+TheShapeH31 Actually in their final match jaden still had cards in is hand so don't know if he would have won even if he stole shining flare.Heck for all we know jaden might have had de-fusion in his hand which he could have activated and win in the same turn anyways.

Shark was Yuma's true rival. He dueled Kaito not even once in season 2 while he dueled Nash in the end. Nash was superior to Kaito.

The gx era was a little tricky with the whole rival department thing..., first it was manjoume (chazz) the cocky and arrogant one that always like to pick fights with judai, that is until he became the butt of many jokes for constantly losing to him and was dumb down to being nothing more than pure comic relief like sawatari in arc v. Well at least in the manga he is judai's true rival, but in the anime not so much. Then came along ryou or as you would prefer his dub name "zane" was at least someone who can duel on judai's level of power as a rival, but sadly that was only a one time I think and it was for their ceremonial duel, can't remember. The rest was more about him face-heel turning because he lost and was in search of way to become stronger which led him to the cyber dark deck and him bickering with his brother. But anyway that was for the time being until they roll the new characters in for season two that we see less of him. Edo debuted a little later than ryou in season 2 I believe...and was a considered a pseudo rival like how he mocked judai to the point of using the same archetype as he did with slight variations and he did beat ryou, but as much as how I would love for him to be judai's rival because with the whole y'know rivaling heroes deck, d-heroes vs e-heroes/neo spacians he just be taken seriously anymore losing to manjoume and getting beaten embarrassingly by an ojama yellow and again losing to some kid riding hippos while having a whiney character.

Andres Xtreme Edo was not even close to being a rival to Jaden... Atleast Zane was the one who Jaden wanted to surpass.

But that never happened because it didn't really matter what card it was. The entire episode was focused on Chazz and how he threw away his chance at finally defeating Jaden. He would've won.
