Importantly Netanyahu must keep UN peacekeepers and international investigative bodies out gaza. There are immense war crimes that will be exposed, and the IDF needs a few years to hide as much as possible.

I agree fully that Israel should, indeed must, be held accountable. Unfortunately the mechanism for this is cumbersome and less effective than we might hope. Still, ICC is recommending arrest warrants, so that's a start. AFA how does BB keep his position, it's the way anyone maintains power: they work within the political system of their country (occasionally pushing beyond the system's limits...) I'm no expert on Israeli politics, but Israel does have a parliamentary system, meaning that Netanyahu needs to put together a ruling coalition. Continuing the war keeps the even more far-right types happy enough to stay in that coalition. From what I can gather from the news, this coalition is not very stable.

You`re also aware of the fact that the Palestinian people have the right to resist violently, do you? They will never disarm themselves, Hamas or any other group for that matter. You know that it isnt just Hamas/Qassam whos fighting in the resistance, right? And as long there is occupation and no liberation there will be armed resistance...
