Hello, I’m bonsai mentor Milton Chang! Repotting is important for 3 reasons:
1. If your plant is root bound, you will want to renovate the roots - remove the unhealthy roots and make room for healthy roots to grow
2. As you craft your bonsai, you’ll see certain angles you prefer. Repotting allows you to style the tree and present it the way you want
3. Simply to change your pot and how it's displayed in your garden
I'll walk you through my repotting process for my 75-Year-Old Nishiki (Cork) Japanese Black Pine Bonsai. I'll show you my techniques and explain the reasoning behind each one. Enjoy!
