Hi there. I’m a euphorbia collector, tropicals are my secondary love. Don’t worry about the root system. Euphorbias tend to have pretty bad roots size wise, maybe because they tend to be succulent and have caudex to store water. It will usually go dormant in winter and drop its leaves where it won’t need water, then wake back up around April when it warms up. Good luck, it’s a cool little plant

Your content and reactions and random-thought-sharings are fantastic. My path is the opposite of yours, vegetable gardener for a dozen years and just recently am I getting into house plants. I'm sure your vegetable plants are going to give you as much grief and pleasure as the rest and I can't wait to see if you begin adding veggie content. This won't make sense, but what I most enjoy about your vids is how much you remind me of my niece. That is the highest compliment I can give a person. I'm sure you're inspiring young women around the world. Thank you.❤

For succulent plants that struggle to create a lot of roots I pot them in pure Akadama. It has a lot of benefits, it's acidic, store nutrients, very airy, it promote root growth and van both store a lot of water but dry very fast. That way plants with not a lot of roots will be able to drink as much as they want but are never soggy.

Loved hearing your thoughts about reading 😍 I feel the same way! I'm starting Where the Crawdads Sing next!!! I've always enjoyed fiction, and I do like some non-fiction, but I'm a huge proponent of reading what makes you excited to read. If that's non-fiction, that's awesome, if it's romance, that's awesome, if it's fantasy, that's awesome!

Really enjoy your videos, keep up the great work!

I love my cactus and succulent collection. I did recently watched a couple of videos on drilling holes in pots for drainage. The diamond tip circle ones were great. I did get two different sizes and drilled holes in 13 or 15 , some terracotta and some ceramic, none broke. You do have to start at a angle and then do 90 degree. Just let your drill do the work and not press too hard. Was very satisfying. Not bad for a 67 year old woman. I always try and do it myself 😜

In regards to bugs in outside plants, I've been treating my plants' soil prior to putting them outside and periodically if I notice any weird bugs on them. Then I give them a full pesticide (you could do Neem) treatment a week or so before bringing them in for the fall/winter. Don't get any sprays on your cacti/succies though, it damages their protective layers. I just picked up some aquarium gravel and top dressed a bunch of my cacti and I'm OBSESSED with how good it looks! def recommend! I'm hoping it helps with the pest issue and keeping my soil from drying out so quickly from the sun/wind.

Impromising is my favourite thing to do :D I am so unsure on charcoal! It absorbs the bad stuff but it can't differentiate so I'm always worried I'm going to suck all the good nutrients out of the soil.. It also alters PH levels which isn't a good thing either. But then so many people recommend it? So idek.

I am a cacti/succulent fan. This video makes me think I should check out some of mine for repotting. I use a regular drill bit for drilling drainage holes in ceramic or terra cotta. If you put a piece of masking tape on both the inside and outside of the pot bottom and drill through the tape it does well. No special bits needed.

Really enjoyed watching you repot these guys. I think I do need to get some cacti! A suggestion for the ‘dust’ thing with the pumice etc. I used to grow bonsai many years ago and mixed my own soil (actually very similar to Pon). When I got a new bag of any of the components I would take the time to sieve it (outside of course), to remove the dust. Can be quite relaxing as long as you are not breathing it in. Might seem a pain, but it did mean when I wanted to use it, I didn’t have to worry about the dust as much. Looking at the amount of dust in perlite I think I’m going to invest in a fine sieve and do the same again. Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed your plant repotting. When I have repotted in the past and the plant sticks I use a long pencil to help push the plant out very gently from the bottom in the drain hole. The plant that you have 2 of them together I noticed a bud on the back side. Is that a fuzzy type cactus? It brings the star shaped blooms? I have one and they grow good size. They like to trail down the sides of the pot or hanging basket. I think they bloom on new growth. You might want to separate them. My is about 15 inches across. Well I'll keep watching. I enjoy. Hi again haha. That plant that people thought might be a dragon fruit isn’t. It looks like it might be some sort of Stapelia, maybe gigantea. They get star shaped flowers that kind of smell bad to attract flies :) also I’m an aloe person and that aloe you have looks like it might be an aloe ferox which can get huge, sine they eventually grow into single head trunking tree aloe and can tolerate being root bound for a while.

When I used to repot my succulents I’d water them right after then they rotted. Since then I’ve heard you let them sit for a couple days to a week and then water. Has anyone else had that issue?

I always wet the roots then place the plant in the pot, that way the whole substrate isn’t sopping. This usually works well for me. I get what you’re saying though.
