Ty, and it's true. Harder to learn from experience without research. But research is just information, you really aren't learning a trade until it's applied. Look at med school. Someone needs to make a shirt with the definition of co-dom and in-dom
@dobber434 жыл бұрын
They are both basically visual hets, which is why the dom part is there. In-dom usually means things that are a lethal when there are two copies.
@TheLotek14 жыл бұрын
@@dobber43 yes they are both visual hets. But the part about in-dom usually meaning a a leathal homozygous form is incorrect. Co-dom actually means roughly half of the area shows patches of the morph in its homozygous state (imagine a genetic 50/50 paradox in het form). While incomplete dominance is more blended rather than patches.

I was wondering something you might know the answer to. Is Spotnose X Champagne a fatal combo? I have not been able to find a consistent answer in all my reading. Some think it is and others don't. I have seen a few of those on Morph Market that appear to be fine. One of the regulars on here has a gorgeous male Champagne combined with one or two other genes that I'm interested in maybe next after the current female I'm paying off is paid up. I have a female Spotnose Leopard 66% het Clown and before I commit to buying the Champagne male I want to be sure there won't be genetic problems breeding with my Spotnose female. I was originally thinking he'd be a good mate for my Butter Black Pewter female but also think he and my other female would have beautiful offspring if it is safe to try.
@OlympusReptiles4 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't. It isn't fatal, I have seen it work. BUT wobble is a thing, and combining any two genes that wobble has higher risk, and a high chance of causing the issue of a much worse wobble. We always talk about the vast majority of spiders being fine. Same with champagne, spotnose, etc. But, combining any two makes it much higher chance of debilitating wobble.
