I have never operated a Bobcat before, but saw my brother operating the one he rented and used at his place. Since I have two utility tractors and they do all of what I need to do there is no need for a bobcat at my place, but it is nice to know how to operate one and this video was informative, and I thank you for showing us how to do it.

My bud dumped his Bobcat out for me to clean my barn and said "You can figure it out"...which I kinda did but it was reassuring to make sure I wasnt' doing something wrong...it is much different animal than my FEL on a farm tractor. I do know one thing with the bucket that close it will be easier to dump dirt and hay on myself than with my cab tractor. I noticed the gravel and stuff in the cab you were showing.

Tractor??? First time ever hearing a Skid Steer called that. ;-)

Thanks got an idea now. I had to use a backhoe again today to load stone in a truck at work. I know how to use the CAT version of skid steers but it was gone on a job site. Never used our old Bob Cat before. Would rather use the front end loader but it’s not allowed to take stone from the inside because its by a wall.

Home Depot rents these per day.. how long does it take to figure it out and be any good at it? Would this be good for leveling a dirt road? removing a bunch of 6 foot bushes and thick, organic, viney carpet on sandy soil in Central Florida.

This tractor is like driving a spaceship....that’s like hopping in your skid steer and saying this roller is like driving a submarine.

It is called a skid steer loader and you operate it a tractor is a landscaping farming machine they can have a loader mounted them.

Despite the numerous errors spoken by the narration I have included this video in a list for anyone asking me for advice on operating a skid steer loader. Yes it is not a tractor, It does not use glow plugs unless you turn the key all the way in the opposite direction of starting. Of course there is no such thing as a spaceship, but if you follow this guys directions you will be up and running in a relatively safe way. I would have advised using the seat belt because I know someone who was thrown out of his Bobcat and injured when he hit a hidden stump. Come to think of it i need to make a video of how I use mine.

I always wondered why Bobcat didn’t reverse the controls and make the pedals control the wheels.
