Reptiliannes can be scary to encounter. I remember one duel where they kept zeroing out all my monsters, and the only reason I didn't die immediately was because my "Teardrop, the Rikka Queen" gained enough ATK from my opponent's tributing to get over their Echidna.

Ghost of a Grudge is also a good tech! If your opponent has 8 or more cards in their GY, which they probably will unless they're playing something banish heavy or Madolches, it drops all their monsters to 0 ATK.

Funny trivia? In Japanese (and in French), their names are reversed: the synchro is named Lamia while the tuner is named Hydra.

@@chrisshorten4406 if you look into the lore a bit, it's said that Lamia turned into the hydra because she got decapitated 4 times and grew an extra head each time. I imagine if that didn't happen she'd most likely still be adorable rather than how she looks as the Synchro monster. I find it a little sad tbh.

If only there was a card that negated the effects of monsters with 0 atk this archetype would be super strong. Something like buster blader decks, but with 0 atk monsters instead of dragons.

Probably a field spell or a continuous spell. On a monster nowadays itd be too vulnerable to flat monster negates. Reptilianne Hive Field Spell If this card is activated you can special summon a Reptile monster with 1000 or less attack from your deck. Non-Reptile monsters with 0 ATK in play and the graveyard have their effects negated. If your opponent controls a Monster with 0 ATK; This card cannot be destroyed or banished by opposing card effects. And then you maybe get a Contact Fusion monster with a continuous effect. Reptilianne Saboteur Lvl 5 Reptile Effect 0 ATK/ 2500 DEF A "Reptilianne" monster + a monster on either side of the field with 0 ATK You take no damage from battles involving this card. If a card with 0 ATK leaves the field; You can add or set a "Reptilianne" spell/trap or spell/trap that lists Reptiles in its text from your deck or Grave. (Quick Effect) You can spin a "Reptilianne" monster in your Grave or is Banished: This card gains that monster's effect and type(s) until the end of your next turn and you can discard a card to act as its trigger or cost. The idea with the second one is to reuse old stuff like Viper and Medusa to easily reduce the attack of other monsters on the field. Reason it isnt a Synchro is so you dont need to worry about the levels and the one Reptilianne on field being a tuner or not. The "discard a card to act as trigger" is intended to bypass the "When this card is normal summoned" clause of stuff like Viper and Medusa. I dunno if that's how it works but hey, gotta try. Also the gain types is intended to make Sabateur a Tuner when you need one.

"Branded Servants", but you need to summon a fiend fusion (hard to splash without locking yourself). "Brave-Eyes Pendulum Dragon", but it's also hard to splash, although some performapals like Bot-eyes Lizard may allow this (and it's a Reptile!) We tried to work on the strategy with a friend but didn't manage to make it work. I'd love to see a Reptilianne deck managing to use either of these to turn the petrifiers into negation.

@@doubl2480 branded servants still would be only once per turn negation, kinda overwhelming for the struggle to make it work. But the odd eyes/performapal looks really good, the warrior monster needed for the fusion still makes it unreliable, but as a meme deck sounds really fun. Loved it. Hope someday konami make something of the sorts in the reptillianne archetype itself. It's only natural, I don't understand why they didn't do it yet.

Back in the summer of 09 I dominated the playground with the first 3 reptile monsters shown in this video. I was neck and neck as one of the two unbeatable duelists in my entire elementary school. Albeit there were a total of about 15 kids who played YuGiOh in my school but it was the most fun I ever had playing the game whenever we weren’t all arguing over rules using our singular rule booklet.

Misty used a lot of continuous spells and traps to help her deck. Her second duel with Aki didn't use Reptillanne and just used Bad End Dragon and Earth Bound Immortal Gecko

Ghost of a Grudge ,Alien Brain and Spirit Barier (for Naga) is a must. Also a great boss monster for Reptilianne deck is Evil Dragon Ananta ( Snake Rain to help boost the ATK)

It was great seeing the 1/3 that was abhyss deck reptilianne i liked it unique 0 use but mostly for echidna and hydra combo with phanto lord bishhbaalkin that just let you draw 10 reptiles

I would love to reccomend Ghosts with a Grudge(any modern deck has its enitre field dropped to zero) and my personal funky spice NECROID SYNCHRO, you're already dumping a fair number of reptiles in the grave, especially if you're running Snake Rain and being able to drop Hydra as a Quick Effect interruption is just funny

There’s a lv 8 reptile called supreme sovereign serpent of gongolda or something- a spriggan card, BUT it has the neat effect that lets it summon itself from GY or hand if you control a field spell, you could send it to gy with snake rain or water lily- play a field spell like lair of darkness or recoil, get it back- play lamia and then make a cheeky Baronne de fleur that zeros out two monsters in the process. Kinda neat

Something I like to do with Recoil is destroy off Gardna. Not only do I get a monster on board but a search lol. Also there's a card called Yamoimori. Funny little lizard

i once made Melusine turn 1, and then just passed, casue they used maxx c Went up against xyz spam, and they could do literally nothing against it, cause aperiantly only removal they had was destruction.

Using tokens to summon the link makes me think they should remove the token restriction from XYZ monsters. That rule was created way before links and is an outdated and unneeded restriction.

Reptilliane Rage is so pointless. It couldn't even bother reducing the opponent's monster ATK to 0 to keep consistent with the theme.

Reptiliannes really NEED their own Lost World so you can have something to take advantage of their effects instead of going through every summoning mechanic and a bishbaalkin to do so. I’ve been trying out Kinghtmare Iblee with Piri Reis Map *cope.jpeg*

Imagine a Equip Spell what can do this: When this is Activated, if control other monsters than Reptile monster you can Special summon 2 "Reptiliane Token" (Reptile/DARK/Level3/ATK0/DEF0) in the Opponents field of the Equiped monster. The Equiped monster cannot be Destroyed by Battle, also if is not a Reptile Negate its effect.

This video reminded me about the hype that surrounded the Abhyss (yes, Abhyss > Ogdoadic; don't @ me). Every Reptile archetype benefits from those golden slithery bois and girls, but wasn't enough to push them to even rogue status and that's always sadge.

I've asked this before, but why do you keep calling the monsters 'they'? It's understandable for something more monstrous like Reptilianne Viper, where it's not clear, but you called the Dragonmaids 'she/her', so why don't you for say Reptilianne Coatl? It's obviously not super important, but it just bothers me.
