Hey, I’m a Rhode Islander, and the claim made by that representative saying wind turbines (especially the few off Block Island) are destroying fishing is so blatantly false. First off, so many precautions were made to protect wildlife like whales and the seabed when building and now the windmills are reefs where you can see fishers flocking to the mills for the great abundance of life there. Bruh… buzz words and anger mongering claims… sad.

Its hell downtown in MKE right now. We did have a big protest today down in Red Arrow park, I was there for a bit. I did troll the police a little by making the pops and bangs on my BMW super loud like shots almost🤣🤣 But I stopped when I saw that once you make it into one of the checkpoints they have like army guys and army vehicles in there. If you go to the outskirts of downtown, like by the casino and further where the captain pabst bar used to be, there are even more army guys in camo and like armored vehicles stationed around. Its wild rn because I live downtown and I was tempted to wander around a bit at night just to see whats going on. I stopped snooping once I saw all the army shit.

As a Tennessean, I can fully say it's scary sometimes. I'm a rural mail carrier, and I'm pretty sure that truck is all that's protecting my visibly queer ass from being attacked sometimes. Younger people are fine. Most people who moved here from out of state are fine. Hell, most people are fine. But every now and again some Bubba ass guy will give me this look like he would really, really love to hate crime me. Off the clock, I routinely get called slurs in public, or have parents say things to their kids about my appearance and how I'm not a child of god, or little kids will ask their parents if I'm a boy or girl and the parents will say I'm a "thing" or an "it." Like, often enough that I just pop in headphones at the store so I don't have to deal with it (though people still approach me to be crappy), and I'm growing out my hair for the first time in a decade so I can pass as my birth sex better and not have people making my androgyny a big deal. In the bigger cities, no one cares, luckily, except random assholes. But out where I'm working? I see "take America back" Trump signs everywhere, and who knows how much q-anon stuff. I love where I live and I wouldn't leave here unless I found a place further into the middle of nowhere (maybe NC, who knows), but you do have to play chess with strangers to make sure they won't do something heinous because they've clocked you as one of them homos. There's also the joy in meeting other queer people in the wild and having that unspoken "I'm here and I understand you" moment. Like, did an Instacart order to this house and the guy who approached me said he didn't remember ordering anything and I said, "Ah, maybe it was the wife. I hear that a lot," obviously playing into the misogyny I'm used to to try to fit into the convo, and he looks at me and goes, "Well, no wives here. Just the husband!" And I live for moments like that, because it helps me stay sane and know I'll have a place like that, someday, where I have a spouse to go home to who doesn't care about my gender or sexuality and just that I'm happy and safe with them.

I’m currently living in NC, but I’m luckily moving to my home state CT this year. Hopefully that keeps me safe enough as a gay man.
