Great idea to use old phone as resource monitor, I have 3 old phones collecting dust. time to put them to use.

Figured I would share some tips on how I'm setting my phone up for any viewers trying this too. Make your monitor better changing the folowing settings in your phone: - At devs mode set your phone to stay active while charging (your screen will stay on at all times with charger on) - Set to airplane mode and wifi on (save battery) - Set your lockscreen to lock at 10/30 secs - At devs mode again, set your phone to skip lockscreen and unlock imediately - Connect your phone directly to your PC USB for charging and sync with your pc power - Turn off battery optimization for your remote monitor app or turn off the kill app (or find a similar setting in your phone, just make sure your monitor keeps running at all times) This way you can turn your pc off at night, and your screen will turn off since its not charging anymore. When you turn your pc on again it will automatically turn your screen on and at the last screen you left it, since its skiping lockscreen too. It will automatic turn everything on and off with your computer. I couldnt stand the app screen on while my pc and lights were off so, thats the tip. Thanks TechFP for the awesome tip, I'm super happy with my final setup, I was luck enought to have a small and all black old xiaomi phone that fits perfectly, and didn't had to buy a raspberry screen for this mod. Thanks for sharing. Just a concern, although it is a used phone, im not sure if the phone will be OK because PC accumulate heat plus the phone produce heat on its own. If your PC do not exhaust heat properly then the phone lifespan will be more less

To anyone who is concerned about the phone's temperature: since inside your case the temperature is around 30-40 °C, your phone is totally fine. Even if your cpu and gpu work around 60°C or more it doesn't mean that inside the case there's that temperature, your case airflow keep the temperature way lower inside it. Just put your phone in a position where it can be cooled by the case's fans.
