That would Qualify as an "Underappreciated Survivor" as 81-83 are impossible to find. Next Assignment, Please find a 903 Cummins/v730 FLYER! I know one is floating round the bay somewhere.

Sound just like All SF Muni's Old Fleet with 6V92TAs

Hopefully I'm not the only one to notice that those are the same kinds of seats San Francisco muni used to have.

Omg I used to ride these in middle school. Sounds like they fixed it in this one but they used to have this nasal kazoo like sounding whine that perfectly matched the engine. Orion’s had this too. I don’t know if it was the cooling fan or the transmission.
@TheCRTman3 жыл бұрын
It only does it when turning now. I think it might have to do with the power steering.

That bus was built in the same year with the same 6V92TA/HT-740 powertrain as Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District (SC MTD) Gillig Phantoms 8050 thru 8063 and 8065, which were also 35 footers.

Some Orion Is had that special 2nd gear start too (for all Allison automatics: the MT-643, the MT-644, the HT-740 and HT-747).

@@socaltransitstudios nice. 7415 is privately owned in Las Vegas Bus Repairs and is also used as a party bus. Most likely she's just sitting there right?

the design has been the same for 30 years
@manuelalvarado6510 Жыл бұрын
Except Gillig redesigned the front and rear ends of the Phantom in 1983 and that redesign remained until production came to the end of the line in 2008.
