You have to wonder. It's more than notes on a scale. And, there are only a few composers that truly embrace, our heart and soul. I have a theory...these men and women are Angels on loan; God's way of letting us know, we are His beloved children and each note is a tap on our shoulder, with God saying, Be Loving And Good To One Another.

Out of all the recordings of this heavenly work - and I've heard many - this is my favourite. Carreno is just a miracle - in every way - as an incredible musician, and in overcoming his disability. His deep passion, and feeling is communicated to his fresh, unpolished choir wonderully, and the exquisite experessiveness of the whole performance, is beyond price.

My hearing is going too, tinnitus. I was usually really good at what pitch and sounds were required. It seems to me now listening to the female and male voice when they sing together, it sounds off to me. Kinda of sad for me I guess, After years of piano playing I feel like Beethoven.

I love this piece... so many uniquely exquisitely beautiful moments, one after the other. I never cease to wonder at how great music composed on one side of the world centuries ago can be embraced, performed, and perfected (and shared) on the other side of the world, with the indisputable excellence seen here. It shows how we are all more alike than we are different, I think, that there are absolutes of emotion that all humans share. It gives me hope that all of our differences can be solved, even when everything else seems to suggest that maybe they can't. Crazy, I know. It makes be both sad to the point of tears and ecstatically happy at the same time.

You wrote a great comment. "What power, what glory, what pathos"--beautiful words, indeeed. Let's not forget Mozart wrote this piece in light of one of the deepest Sacred mystery of Christianity--the Holy Mass which make present the Passion(his power), the Crucifixion(his glory), and death(his pathos). Mozart was Catholic and Catholics belives that the one time Act of God's Love on Calvary and His Resurrection, in time n space, being made present thru out history since this Act is always Present in God's Eternity. So when Catholics attend Holy Mass, they participate in what God does in the Present--atoning (His Passion), forgiving(His Crucifixion), and interceding(by His Resurrection)on their behalf before God the Father. So this music meant not only beautiful in itself, objectively speaking, but a sacred reminder in our hearts and minds and our inner souls the Most important Act of God's love.

Gregory and the Simon-Bolivar orchestra, chorus and soloist have captured Mozart's Requiem Mass K.626 to absolute perfection at his darkest hour. I believe this is the most sacred and these people's performance of this is the single most profound piece of music divine by God. If Mozart was able to watch this performance he would say this is exactly note for note from beginning to end what I strove for when I wrote this Requiem Mass. It is the embodiment of the most sacred piece of music and the best interpretation of it, I believe in all in the music history of the world. A performance that will live forever!!!

I have listened to this Mass from several Maestro's and I have to conclude that this one is by far my favorite. There is not much I can add that is not already said by others. The choir so youthful and orchestra play with so much enthusiasm. Amazing, Thank you for this excellent performance. Bravo!!

That long “A-men” at Lacrymosa is amaaaaaaaazing & bold as hell!!!! Like unto Bernstein’s super slow & bold interpretation of “Introductuis” (spelling?), this too is an amazing choice. And I f-ing L O V E it❣️ Bold as hell! As well as the entire Lacrymosa interpretation! Especially after the small orchestral interlude! 😍 And since this [Mozart’s] requiem is one of my favorite things, I’ve heard ‘gazillions’ of them! But THIS Maestro “went there!” Holy smokes!!!!! Entire interpretation, as everyone has already stated!!!! Everything else has already been said. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 W o w!

My GOD.!!! this took me back to 1992 when I was in High school Music Class and we would sing and Rehearse the Requiem Concerto all the time in the Hallways of our school, since there our Professor knew the Echo that produced was perfect for us to hear ourselves in how we sounded and it was good then we were to go to a District competition in Orlando Florida and the song we sang was Lacrimosa. We got 1st Place, I will NEVER Forget that and Still to today I remember the Lyrics.!!!! Beautiful Concerto, Thank you for a GREAT Memory through this Amazing Video.!!!🎶💖🙏😍😍🎶
