Welcome back to the mill!
In today's video we are going to be taking some leftover timbers from a timber frame build. We are showing what you can do with the leftovers instead of burning them or throwing them away. The customer wanted 5/4 and 8/4 boards out of the timbers. There was barely any waste in the timbers it was barely enough to fill up a grocery bag. These timbers were some of the smoothest sawing woods we have had on the mill.
We want to give a huge shoutout to Solomon, he helps us so much editing some of the videos. Be sure to check out his channels, he puts in an amazing amount of effort for our channel as well as his own.

That awesome man better than it being thrown away or blocked up for firewood. To import Douglas fir or cedar is big bucks

I have a question for y'all. I'm fixing to build a sawmill shed and I'm using 6 x 6 red cedar posts and I was wondering what kind of lumber and what size do i need to use for an 18 foot opening ????
@BeardedLumber
@BeardedLumber 2 ай бұрын
If I was spanning an 18ft opening here in the south with our low snow loads i would use a triple 1 1/2 × 9 1/2 with 2 sheets of osb plywood and liquid nails 3 screws 16" on center on the inside and outside of setting by 8" in and out Also, if using green Lumber, add a post in the center for a couple of weeks to allow the wood to dry straight under the load . Thx for watching and commenting 👍

Just curious can the wheels be removed on the woodmizer that must be a pain to have to walk around them. I’m sure you gotten use to it by now but just wondering
@BeardedLumber
@BeardedLumber 2 ай бұрын
Yes, they can be removed but I think it's more trouble than it's worth on a 35 if we get a 70 yes no axel
