Update : These guys were released about a week after this video and were very excited to run off to freedom. Animals shown on this channel, unless otherwise stated, are rehabilitation animals which means our goal is to keep them as wild as possible, so we don't play with them or treat them like pets - our main goal is always getting them to a stage where they can return to the wild where they belong and maintaining their natural instincts.

I had 2 babies a few years ago and they didn't want to leave when I let them go.

You could of added some enrichment items like branches for them to climb. They like a natural setup.

Thankfully now they are free out in the wild. This was a chance for them to acclimate to the smells and sights of the outdoors before their full release!

Thank you for sharing your video. I am the foster of 3 babies as we speak. Their mother was accidentally killed and my friend called me to help with the babies. I have always taken in injured or otherwise in need animals. Do you have any advice on how to go about finding someone who can teach them the ropes and let them go when its time? I live on a farm also, and i have no doubt i can teach them some of the skills they will need. But we live close to a highway and i couldn't live with myself if any of them got hurt or killed because of that. I was just hoping for a little advice because i want to do whats right for these babes. They are so little but i know they grow fast! Besides the highway issue i would love to let them loose here and they can benefit from our barn like so many critters have especially in the winter. Anything that needs to drink, eat or sleep is welcome...just be nice!! 😊 Thanks for listening and if you or your wife have any advice, please reach out!

You can try AHNow.com to help find rehabbers in your area that can help you with how to care for them and where you can release them when it's time. Opossums have special challenges because they are marsupials and care depends on size. Under 100g they require specialized feeding methods and formula. Once they reach 100g care becomes easier. They can lap up formula, I use Fox Valley Opossum formula, and start eating. I used a mix of dog food, vegetables, and yogurt called Peter's Food. The national opposum organization also has great info on how to care for them. Best of luck, I hope your babies do well! -Cynthia

Попытка отобрать камеру была почти успешной. Но, коварный человек не дал опоссуму стать блоггером. ))

I am so cruel, but I do wonder what an opossums' blog would be like?
