RESCUED Circus Playhouse Band

My recently acquired Circus Playhouse show, made by AVG in the early 80's. These guys were abandoned in a dilapidated barn for many years and we're very VERY dirty and broken. We've removed all their fur for now but I do have most of it. Barney's is not useable as it's completely faded, moldy and torn. I will be documenting my restoration here soon!

William K Tipsmark lion: Lionel, Tiger: Tex, leopard: Lola, Bear: Barney, Elphant: Elle, chimpanzee: Charlie. The 1st cat looking guy is from a completely different band the Dixie Diggers and I can’t remember his name

OMG YOU ACTUALLY GOT A SET!!! I'm actually so so so happy rn, seeing your previous videos and knowing that you couldn't have such precious gems really made me sad. The fact that you get to restore one of the most fascinating and beautiful set of animatronics I've ever seen is BEYOND exciting, especially since they're so rare!!!

I work maintenance for Six Flags in Georgia for a while and let me tell you a VG characters are some most unserviceable machines I've ever come across very little access for maintenance especially if the character has latex or fur

I recently found your channel and your vids introduced me to the circus playhouse band and tex critters pizza jamboree. I wasn’t even born during their prime, but it is really amazing what you are doing for these characters that used to make a lot of people happy. I like to think they are grateful to have someone fixing them up, looking forward to future updates!

@Romeo Angeles well I never replaced a robot before or recycled one but how much will it cost to remove/replace the wires, get a new mask and costume, fix some of the mechanics in total? It would have been pretty cool to have the creator of Rock-fire robots to have them fixed up. But it would be pretty pricy :/

That’s because it’s from another animatronic show called “Daniel and the Dixie diggers”, made by sally corporation, another company that specialises is animatronics, and so is the one one the left of the shed.

I'm happy to see them being restored. I'll be happy to see what they look like afterwards, and would be glad if I could see full videos of how you restored them. Sanding them and making the patterns for the new fur and fixing the mechanical parts.

They were stored in a barn for many years. The barn fell apart and exposed them to years of rain, sun and snow.

What are these guys made of? Even the bare bones sculpting is so detailed, and they come off as much nicer and friendlier looking than the foam chuck e cheese heads or the latex rock afire.

Fiberglass! There's fur that goes over the fiberglass, and the faces were either a combo of urethane rubber with fur over it or bare urethane rubber for the bear and chimp
