Thanks for posting this it saved me, I didn't know the lift gate had an "off" switch on my dash. That is all it was just an accidentally switch it off. I can't tell you how greatful I was to solve this issue by just watching you KZfaq, many blessing thanks again 4 yrs later you are still helping random people in Minnesota 😂

Your easy to follow, step by step instructions truly helped to save us $800 bucks!! We were given a quote as to what it would cost to replace the back lift gate latch, the switch and the labor. After watching your video, we were able to order the parts from Amazon for under $100 bucks!! The hardest part was removing the interior cover to the lift gate without breaking any of the plastic tabs (we broke 3 out of 6) but the removal of the old switch & latch took 10 minutes tops. We would have done this as soon as it started acting up a year ago, had we known it was going to be this easy and affordable to replace!! Thank you!! You saved us a ton of time AND money!!

Wow ! ! How Mine (2016 Enclave) Got de-programmed I'll never Know. I checked the Fuse in the Engine Compartment; it was Fine. I took out my Tools rolled up My Sleeves to begin a Trouble Shooting Marathon. Then I went to KZfaq to see if somebody went through the Same trouble and lo-and behold I found Your Video. Thank you for this video. It is easy for someone to inadvertently turn off the rear hatch if they are not familiar with the switch on the dash. I had an issue with the lift not opening automatically on my 08 Outlook. I could release the latch and lift it manually, but no auto lift. I knew the switch inside was working fine, but still no auto lift. Ended up buying a used rear latch mechanism from ebay for $50. Easy install, works great now. Don't overpay for this. Dealer wanted $500 with install. Part #13503467.

Thanks a lot, it all worked out good except the button on the outside manually still does not work, but the key lift works and the on off in side work,

My 2012 chevy traverse was stuck but i only opened manually like you did,once i opened it was making a sound on motor part that lock,i pressed the open/close button on gate lift & noise stopped,now is operating like it should

I have a 2015 Buick Encore and my liftgate won't open. However, I do not have a button on my key font nor do I have one anywhere in my car or dash. So I can not reset it as you did. Any suggestions?

Is the liftgate held up by power or the struts? Like if the car has no power/ no battery, will or hold the liftgate up still?

Reset the programming in the system worked perfect....held the button on the fob for 5 seconds
