Up to 40% of adult population in the UK will experience chronic pain in their lifetime. Using the naked mole-rat as a model organism, Prof. Ewan St. John Smith describes the research ongoing to understand how the pain system works in order to develop new painkillers for such conditions.

Interesting how this channel never shows the actual experimentation it carries out or the state of the animals afterwards. It'd probably be banned from KZfaq for gore and violence.
