It is so touching how you remember your mom, Amy. Even after 41 years after losing my mom, I still think of her and how life would have been had she lived much longer. Many times, I am brought to tears. My daughter has no regard for me, which was heartbreaking for years. Sending you hugs and lots of love, dear! I am so happy that I found your channel and your wonderful content, and gotten to know you through it! Also, congrats on the great sales!!! 🥰

I wish I could like this video a million times! I spent my childhood going to flea markets, yard sales and auctions with my mother. She had her own card and gift shop and a field of flowers that she cut bouquets from and sold at flea markets in empty Hi-C cans. She was everything to me and when she passed suddenly when I was 16, I thought the world would end. Fast forward, I’m 54 now, the same age as when she passed. I’ve gone thru so many milestones without her but I know she’s watching over me and hopefully proud 😅 Anyway, I’ve been toying with the idea of a KZfaq channel called the Lonely Reseller, because I think it would be good for me to connect and share. I’m generally a very private person. This video was perfect ❤

I just want to say thank you. My dad has been gone since 2001 and it never gets easier. My mom has been gone for 5 years now. Birthdays and death days are the hardest. But sometimes just doing the most random things I get this shock to my chest that just takes my breath away and I start crying. I just started thrifting 3 ears ago and reselling almost a year ago now. I know my mom would have loved doing this with me and it hurts that we can't do it together. Thanks for sharing about your mom. I cried with you. And thank you for all you have taught me. It means more than you know. I really hope you reach your goal for 10,000 this year....

Omg, the art deco lamp, even repo. Your tribute to your mom was very touching My mother was always a thrifter, we needed to buy 2nd hand after my parents divorced. There are so many things I learned to love through my fun funky artsy parents, that I treasure. Also, this is a lonely field especially when you have no family or friends. But I do consider you and a very few others on KZfaq my friends, love seeing y'all

Wasn’t it so pretty! I really love that style from the art deco era, so romantic and artistic. We too shopped 2nd hand out of necessity after my parents divorced. My mom was so good at making it feel fun and special. Sounds like your mom had an eye for treasures too. It’s so nice that we can connect with people from far and wide on KZfaq. Glad to have you as a friend. 🥰

Oh, Amy. Im 69 and my Mom died in 2000. Not a day goes by that I dont think of her. She was a wonderful, talented woman...she could do anything and do it well. I watch a jewelry seller on YT who often has her mom with her when she sorts her auction wins and I wish my mom was here to do that with me. She would have loved it. I was her caregiver for her last 10:years and Im so glad to have shared that time with her. Your mother sounds like an incredible woman. Arent we lucky to have such qmazing examples to follow? Mine told me that during the Depression her mom would feed anyone who came to the door looking for work. She'd come down for dinner and there would be 1 or 2 strangers at the table. She learned to be kind, be grateful, be humble, and lend a hand from her mother. Im so thankful for the women who came before me.

Automatically it sells high price and fast. plus it is never in "money" pile. when I felt it - youtube the next day suggested me YOUR video

Always enjoy your videos and I learn so much about categories I can’t find often. Your discussion of EU size and custom sizes … you’re right, that was hurting the listing , mainly due to filters. Both ebay and Poshmark will only show listings to buyers who use a search filter (checkbox) with listings that match that selection exactly. Even if you had the conversion size in the title or description. And since there is no filter for 37, once a buyer clicks to their US size your item disappears. xoxo
@thriftadventure5 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! ❤️ Someone else said that there is an option on Posh to choose Euro sizing. I haven’t had time to look into what they said, but I’ll definitely share in a future video. I wish I would have realized sooner that listing under multiple sizes can hide you listings. It’s probably why some of my vintage coats took so long to sell too.

I’ve noticed many resellers only mention postmark fees & cost of the item when determining PROFIT for the purpose of these videos. Why aren’t you talking about the truer profit margin by deducting overhead & your hourly wage for acquiring the items? So much more goes into the “profit margin”.
@thriftadventure5 ай бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for the suggestion.😊 I do understand the differences between Net and Gross profits, but that’s not what my channel is about. I do these videos for fun, and to help other people learn about items to pick up for their reselling business. Thanks for watching!

Those tables are gorgeous 😍 Maybe you’ve said this before in a video, but I wonder if you could share how your shop works? Do you rent a retail space? I’d love to resell furniture but I’m not sure where to store it or whether it would be better to have a shop than trying to store it at home. Thanks for another awesome video! 😊
@thriftadventure5 ай бұрын
Thank you! I rent a building that i originally intended to use as a retail space. The location isn’t great so it didn’t work out to have regular business hours, so I converted to online sales. People can make an appointment to come in and shop. . Renting retail space can be very expensive, so I recommend trying to do it from home if possible. The rent, plus insurance, plus utilities, plus employees, etc. Selling online gives you so much more freedom and flexibility.
