Richard Waugh really had a perfect voice for Wesker, not to suggest that D.C. Douglas didn't do an amazing job in RE 5. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Honestly, both of these guys, smart as they were, were not only morally bankrupt, but frankly, they were really flawed human beings. I mean, at least Birkin makes some sense as to why he was so hyper focused on the G-Virus, considering his deal with Simmons and the US Government, and his plan to get himself and his family pardoned for their crimes in exchange for providing the US Military with G-Virus samples, but even then, he must not have been careful enough, given Spencer found out and had him taken out by HUNK and his team the same way him and Albert had Marcus taken out. As for Wesker, himself, well - something cracked in his mind when he realized he wasn't crafted his own destiny, and that everything he had done, had been orchestrated by Spencer as part of Project-W, causing all his self-delusions of being this mega successful self-made man to completely fall apart, resulting in the murder of Spencer, and then the overcompensating, need to be a God Uroboros plan, as a cry-baby attempt to reclaim one's ego.
