still sad how skimpy re2 was with its content and even more confusing as to why they didnt correct this with dlc or episodic dlc. the remake series has been rather weird with its approach to be honest. they have triple the resources they had in the 90s and still cant make something grandiose.

I think with Capcom being a much larger company than it was, executives have more control and often make developers play it safe/give them tighter deadlines. That leads to a ton of cut-content as well. Not to mention, the team who focuses on Resident Evil specifically, doesn't have as much freedom as they did in the ps1/ps2 era

@@FatherEgypt They do a lot of outsourcing for development for their games. So I don't think its the size that's the issue for productivity. It seems to be a trend with their titles to top load everything in the first section of gameplay then slog the rest, for the RE and its remake series anyway. Either its the engine they use that is too difficult or just bad management decisions. RE2R was half done and it seems all the effort went into the police station than anything else.

@TKUltra971 Whatever development is being outsourced, still has to go through the project-leads. And I wouldn't use the word "productivity" either. The remakes look great, and clearly have had a lot of work put into them, just seems like they shaved down more than a few areas, of course, to meet a deadline. But hey, it could be the size, they could just be uninspired, won't know for sure unless we get a look inside the company's work-process. I agree with the point you made about Re2R being top-heavy. I share those same sentiments despite enjoying it. But I can't let you dunk on the remakes when Re1R exists, arguably the best entry in the series.

@@FatherEgypt That can be disputed with with the results of their own games. Resident Evil 3 remake was a prime example and lesson on how to not to preform outsourcing and how to have tighter reigns on their development. That was a wildfire that threatened to derail the franchise. The remakes 'looking great' are only surface level, because just looking past the glamor of the set pieces that are stock piled in the first hour or so of actual gameplay you are left with a generic clone 3rd person Last of Us shooter which is a copy of the Unchartered gameplay and mechanics. Even RE8 falls victim to this problem as all the effort went into the Castle stage of the game and that's all you saw during trailers, just like with RE2 with the police station and RE4 in the village and starting castle. Through various means we know enough of how their development process works, polices, decisions and where they attempted to steer the series. Whats even more painfully obvious is how they are attempting to rush returns for the RE engine, never has a gaming IP holder ever needed to remake a entire franchise in the past 30 years over dozens of games in order to maintain it. Fans watch, we know, it isn't hard.

So I discovered your channel via a spontaneous interest in watching no damage runs in single-player games. I really enjoy your videos, and I love watching them to help me sleep at night. I've been very curious about one thing, though. How come you only play Resident Evil, Silent Hill, or other miscellaneous/niche titles? Why not things such as The Last of Us (Part 2), Soulsborne, etc. This is in no way a critique, but an observation and my innate curiosity. It makes me a little sad because I do enjoy your overall style of gameplay and commentary.

if you look harder, you'll see I'm trying to expand to other genres and series greatly. i have Castlevania, Final Fantasy, even a Mario and Zelda in my lineup. problem is, the survival horror stuff has me locked into a niche and there's so goddamn much RE content to make that it will grossly outnumber the other videos i make regardless of how many game series i do. i want to do more Final Fantasy or Nintendo stuff.

I'm scouring your channel for a Ghost Survivors: No Way Out run but I'm not seeing one. I doubt it is possible to No Damage that, but I thought I heard something about only using 60 handgun bullets. In any event, would love to see you take a crack at that mode.

I watched a lot of your walkthroughs to get my S+ ranks on both Claire and Leon. And now I wonder, how much a playthrough would be different, if we presume our characters are not omniscient. They don't know what we know, the codes for every lock, or simple things like you can't interact with the chess plugs, until you read the notice, etc. Essentially a "speedrun" as a new player.

I'd like to suggest a run type. Kinda silly, but in the newer games, or where there are shops, don't purchase weapons. Upgrades and ammo would be up to you. But i think it would be a nice little sideline challenge to pull off.

Good lord when the 10 minute video IS BARELY 8 minutes long due to sponsors is when you know you're kinda bad. Don't get me wrong, sponsors are a great thing cause ads pay fuck all, but you can at least pretent to make a longer video to add a sponsor instead of trying to pad the short videos.
