Nemesis' demise in the original game left much more of an impact than the new one. Goes to show that sometimes simplicity overcomes scale.

To me the Remake looks more like an action game instead of a real Survival Horror game, not even in the same atmosphere. The second transformation when Nemesis is runing over the walls is just pure cringe. Obviously the graphics are way better but in other hand the music in the original it's just too epic, hard to match in this regard. Music in the Remake sounds too generic.

The original was kind of intended to have action elements, for example the ammo was in quite high supply.

You know, the original design of nemesis had a true purpose which was explained throughout the original game. The developers of this remake made a great job but they seem to have failed on reproducing the fictional science behind the original game. So it goes like this. The nemesis parasite was allocated in the brain of a functional T00 Tyrant. By laying there, the parasite would enhance most cognitive traits of the new model while keeping any detrimental mutation from occurring. In the original game, in the decontamination room, when you get to fight nemesis type II, nemesis ends up losing his head with an acid bath and with this, the parasite itself. Losing the parasite brings incontrollable mutation which leads to nemesis type III form, a undesirable state due to the loss of lethal efficiency and cognizance as a bio-weapon. In the making of the remake this was most likely Ignored or not know by the developers, hence a dog-like mutation for nemesis type II was not credible given that nemesis still carried the N-parasite. The parasite would have prevented such an uncontrollable mutation from occurring. At this point I was a little disappointed and saddened because it was clear to me that the developers had not understood the role of the nemesis parasite in the creature.

There is a note in RE3 remake that explains that the Nemesis is a Tyrant with a parasite in its brain and though it does not lose its head it does lose its arm, which grows back. However, it seems that they changed the 'fictional science' to the parasite being unpredictable and uncontrollable unlike the T-Virus (the note specifically compares this to a vehicle without any brakes) , and thus it is the source of the transformations rather than what is keeping it from transforming. So its not that they ignored the parasite but like many other aspects of the remake they reimagined the purpose of it. I think either interpretation is equally interesting from a sci-fi point of view.

@@stevenbrooks8983 well there was one detail altered about ne alpha parasite tht could very well change RE history: the ne alpha in the remakes is actually umbrellas own artifical Las plagas after thy discovered the plaga thru Spanish folklore,hence why the parasite zombies in 3emake behave like plaga infected,tht also means the g virus which was made thru a mix of umbrellas virus and ne alpha is related to the plaga now tht makes saddler and his cult indirectly responsible for creation of umbrellas 2 most dangerous weapons AND the Rc outbreak,now capcom did confirm the parasite was an artifical plaga in an interview a while bk,thy said thy did so so we players connect 3R to 4R from a gameplay standpoint and story standpoint

@@AkiKinabalu And the death dished out by Nemesis type 2 in the original was fucking brutal, grabs Jill by the foot and smacks her on the ground till her head just spurts out blood. And by far more scary because he was still just as smart but much more dangerous because the mutation unleashed far more danger than his already devastating punches.

I don't really like Nemesis transformation forms in the remake. I feel like he transformed too fast and his form looks like a wretch from Gears of War mixed with a Xenomorph instead of its own unique design like the original. Nemesis should have had his tentacle shirtless form chasing you to the clock tower instead of the four legged creature.

@SCP 096 Yeah pretty much, like many designs, He just looks very unoriginal and dat nose on his 1st form still bugs me too, he looks silly tbh but that's just me being nit-picky lol. But honestly Capcom missed a opportunity to add his tentacle form, like right when Jill was on the bridge to the Clock Tower, I honestly thought Nemesis was gonna be in that form but when. I saw this four legged creature design I was like "What?? Already?" it would have been better if Nemesis used his tentacles to pull himself to the bridge and then chases Jill into the Clock Tower and could have added a Clock Tower Map with Nemesis hunting you down around inside just to extend the game a little more cause it was just too short, it felt so rushed.

I feel like the difference in the remake and the original is what mutated. In the original it was the Parasite that mutated, where as in the remake it was the Tyrant. A mix of both would probably be best and make the most sense.

I see scenes from this 2020 version and I say, wow this is awesome, great graphics and design, but then I see 1999 version and I remember the fear and my hands sweating when I hear the sounds of the menu selection and Nemesis music and roaring Staaaars in the background, that was real fear and will never be the same

Classic RE3 wins. Remake killed the magic... Soundtrack in original is pure gold, much higher quality audio, louder, and well composed. Better story lines, and detailed rooms, more gore, less talking, colors pop out much better, and stays true to the RE saga trilogy.

Original transformations are better, obviously. We feel the parasite inside Nemesis. In remake, Nemesis' transformation is doggy, too animal. The Tyrant is gone.

I kinda agree. Classic Nemesis' transformation from a hulking mass of infected dude to some demonic looking monstrosity was at least gradual. In Remake, it sorta' just looks like he's a dude, then he gets burned and falls into water, now he's like DOOM's imps, but bigger, and lacking fireballs. Next form, he gets consumed by acid, and then comes back as sorta like a fleshier version of the bed of Izaleth, but with less bullshit. Personally, I find the original Nemesis to be a lot more gross...which is a good thing, seein' how he's supposed to be a big abomination of mankind. I'm kinda gettin' the vibe that Capcom's fucking up again and trying too hard to make it an ACTION horror game. Especially with the changed up rail gun scene, where apparently Jill seems to have borrowed Chris' steroids.

Also, feel I should add this, doesn't it seem more impressive when the rail gun's immobile, and doesn't seem protable at all when it fires off to kill the big bad, as compared to something smaller that can be lifted by a "normal" human being? I kinda have a feeling it's more impressive with it being a bigger gun you gotta' lead the boss in front of to kill it that way rather than a smaller gun that you literally walk up and shove it in the big bad's mouth before pulling the trigger. I kinda feel like the battle of timing seems more bad ass.

Re 2 made some mistakes though. The g virus is supposed to "improve" the body,which is why in the original it replaced all of the original parts with better one from G1 to G2 but when birkin gets defeated it compensates and "fixes" the error,like growing two more arms. G4 and G5 birkin are only all over the place when it comes to body mass was due to it being constantly attacked so it made mounds of flesh to guard the precious organs but in the remake all of them are just random imperfect balls of flesh like the last forms are,which doesn't make sense based on how G works

@Valiant Videos The remake is beautiful yes, but not as terrifying as the original that I can say. Also, you did not have to be an asshole, you could have given your opinion peacefully and call it a day, but anyways, the reason why nemesis isn't terrifying compared to the OG is cause of his scripted behavior. It was better when he was randomly appearing out of the blue to ruin your day. The only time he shines in the remake was during the boss battles, Other then that, not much else plus he can be downed or stunned too easily in the remake which really ruins it. Thats all I have to say.

I'm probably the only one who's saying this, but I like the remake nemesis. It scares you to actually defeat him because every time he loses more of his clothing, he becomes more of a monster. Faster, deadlier, and uncontrollable. The only reason the last form couldn't move was because he melted to bits before this.

Every resident evil game is short. The og re3 is the second shortest game in the series. Re3r is only linear an if you think that it's bad because of that, well that didn't stop re4 from being called the best resident evil game.

I beat this game super fast, This remake wasn't as good as original in so many ways, 1. Soundtrack is trash 2. No worm boss aka grave digger 3. No clock tower location making the game shorter 4. Nemesis doesn't stalk you as much especially no appearances in the RPD 5. The music that was playing during gameplay and cut scenes in the original was epic, barely any music gave this remake any feeling 6. Most of the other creatures from the original are a no show in this rushed remake 7. This game should've been released at least 2 years from the release of RE2 Remake not a year later, it was rushed to please fans and a big mistake by capcom 8. No mercenaries mode 9. RE2 is the better of the two 10. Try again capcom with Code Veronica, RE4 or maybe even RE Outbreak remake done right

@Mitch I'm actually hoping Capcom does what they usually do with their series and milks RE2make one more time with a directors cut style version and adds the true A/B scenario and other things that didn't make it. It would suck to have to pay for it again, but we waited so long for it and it just feels incomplete compared to the original. It's still an amazing game though.

I didn’t like the final form in the remake , thought it was over the top and abit lazy making it a big Stationery boss, couldn’t help having fun fighting it but doesn’t give it a iconic feel

RE3R final boss fight doesn't make any sense. So Nemesis somehow survived acid bath while wrapped himself in a cocoon, but where all those mass come from? Then he proceed to break a pristine lab wall specifically designed to contain the acid and conveniently dropped down infront of a test chamber for an experimental gun of mass destruction... In RE3 everything was logically explained that Nemesis was dead from having his head melted off, leaving only the parasite safe and sound within his body, and that they were able to regain his mass and quickly mutate by eating a fresh tyrant's corpse. Plus, he was dropped exactly where he was supposed to be, a disposal room where they compresses waste matter into a cube for an easy ship off or waiting to be destroyed. While the Rail Cannon was air dropped by the US marines to retrieve defected Umbrella personal and/or valuable company assets while fending off 5 or 6 Mr.Xs. It seems CAPCOM wanted to mirrored the development cycle of the original 2 and 3 with the remake ones. With CAPCOM losing alot of resources and time for 2 and it's 1.5 version and had to quickly cobbled up 3 to cover their expense. Yet the original 3 looks better and complete in everyway compared to 3 Remake.

Nemesis adapted to the situation by absorbing the acid and using it as fuel for his biomass, and honestly it's RE nothing makes sense if you become overly logical I.E why would Nemesis' parasite still hunt Jill when it's host died by decapitation, why would Marines drop down a slow immobile Railgun when there's a lot of other weaponry, why is Umbrellas best solution for the tyrants limiters clothing.

And Nemesis parasite still recognized and hunts Jill because it is Nemesis goddamn second brain, why would they inject a parasite into a tyrant in the first place? And are you dumb? This is US military dealing with 6 human tanks that can only be brought down by heavy ordinance and are fast enough to aimdodge a missile, where would you find those other weaponry to match those monsters? If you downplay Resident Evil universe as not making sense then any other sci-fi don't too.

Also are you seriously asking what other light weight weaponry can be effectively used against tyrants when a majority of RE protagonists put them down without rocket launcher, grenade launchers,guns, bombs etc.

What would be your oh-so-logical solution mr. scientist? And no protagonists has ever fought against 5 Tyrants at once before while the military had to. One tyrant can take up to 2-3 rockets, even a full squad of highly trained assault marine can't take something like that with manportable artillery. Much less when each of them can swat a rocket down mid-flight with bare hands. That's why the rail gun was needed. It's not that the series is illogical, it's that you don't think.

I lowkey hoped that we would get the same nemmy music in the remake or at least like in the re2 remake, the option to switch it on/off...+ as "cool" as the new forms of nemmy are, he didn't scare me at all. It was more of a nuiscance if anything. The original RE3 game was my first game ever and maybe it's just the nostalgia from back in the days but the remake doesn't come close to it at all :/

I've tried the RE1 remake and I just cannot bring myself to enjoy tank controls and fixed camera angles. I never played the originals I'm definitely not that old but the tank controls are just too outdated imo.

I prefer The Original Nemesis. The first time he appears in this remake is nothing compared to the original. The second stage is like Nemesis became huge Licker in the remake, and the last stage is an outrage. Because in the original, Nemesis cameback with the fusion between him and MR.X ou William Birkin if i am not wrong. I guess the game in this aspect should have stayed loyal to the forms of Nemesis, but well this is a remake...

He eats part of a dead Super Tyrant (T-103) and mutates as a result. Definitely nothing to with William Birkin, as he was completely annihilated at this point in the story, and MILES from the Dead Factory in tiny pieces.

What game did you play? In the original he had his standard form, and about half way through the game you basically melted away his upper body, and burned off half of his body which basically gave one of his sides pretty much unhinged, with a mass of tentacle appendages coming off of one side of his body. His last humanoid confrontation takes place in the dead factory where you melt him with aside to which you face him as a giant slug like being after he takes a bit out of super Tyrant. The final form in the original was basically a slug. The remake did away with his second form and opted for the more animal like form. Personally I like the animal form a lot, but felt that the second form should've had a place in the remake as well. As far as final forms go, I'll take the remakes rendition of him a thousand times over.

I had a great time with the remake and playing through nightmare now, but they really dropped the ball with Nemesis. They have him mutate too early and he's just not the same when he's some big dumb monster set piece instead of a stalker enemy. Also he was way more relentless in the original. Even after getting obliterated by the railgun with barely any of his body left he's still coming after Jill. Literally nothing will stop him. Where as in the remake he's gone for huge section of the game, like why wouldn't he be going after Jill in the hospital? I think a Carlos vs Nemesis boss fight there would have been way better than the dumb hold out vs zombies and hunters part.

Imagine having an re engine of topless nemesis with tentacles in the remake and once it grabs you you'll have tank controls in re2r If you have grenades using Carlos Oliveira. That the only portion of the game where Carlos's knife finally is breakable is in this part, it would be awesome and Nemesis still has his attack like in the og where he tosses you with his tentacles and capcom put qte when your health is in caution and danger on assisted and standard mode, you'll die on first tentacle grab and tossing on hardcore and nightmare but tank control activates once when your in caution when Nemesis grabs you but Carlos has a special counter mechanic where he evades nemesis's tentacles, grabs it then cut it with a knife if it's well executed by perfect timing pretty much just like a dodge mechanic and a qte on inferno mode for about 6 seconds when your in danger but can only do tank controls when in caution but still can perform counter attack that can only be used in nightmare and inferno mode 😉👍 hire me capcom! I have lots of ideas 😁😉

REmake3 was a shocking letdown, this is coming from someone who even tempered their expectations and anticipated Nemesis being gutted compared to OGRE3. He's a total joke even on Nightmare until the last fight where the devs decide the only way to have him win is by giving him stunlock

It's funny how people are always bitching about the clock tower not being in this game when that's where the 2nd form nemesis fight takes place😂. There's just no need to enter it anymore. Carlos taking infected Jill to the hospital instead of leaving her on a table in the clock tower makes much more sense.

I know this is just expanding on what others have said but the fact that the 2nd and final forms severely changed have really naffed me off I havent played the original so ignore me if you want but anyway There is a clear progression of mutation in the original, even though the 2nd and final form are quite different you can the end battle was supposed to be a giant parasite but the remakes design is somewhat remenicent of stage 5 birkin and the thing burrows the aesthetic and textures of the bugs near the beginning which no relevance to nemesis, i can see a resemblance between the dead body of nemesis itself but making that the actual boss for me especially as a remake would be a big no no for me I cant even be bothered to talk about the second its just got 0 similarities and is too animalistic But now dont get me wrong i like the designs themselves maybe serving as good bosses for a different game but here i would say they just dont really fit in the role they were given I do understand this project was given to a side team at capcom so it didnt have the loyalty to the original to REmake 2 but still some faith to the original wouldve been nice

Still prefer the original ngl.... Remake just tried way too hard to make it seem intimidating that it ends up looking cartoonish as fuck. Especially so considering they persisted on retaining his head being the most noticeable part the redesign whereas the body is just straight up swole licker frame and a massive uninspired immobile blob at the end.

Easy mode due to having an assault carbine, magnum and shotgun a that point of the game. And Nemesis after downed once would not be easily down again by 7 shotgun shells. Infact, fighting Nemesis with shotgun on normal mode is a suicide.

He's actually not easy if you play on hard, which is the 'normal' mode. He's fast and does a lot of similar things in the remake besides the tentacle pull. Of course you can take advantage of his AI, but all in all I'd say he's just as relentless in a different way.

This had so much potential... i thought the remake before the train scene was really good... nemesis looked amazing, and the rocket launcher scene ( and optional fight was really fun ) but why he was able to go down in 1 grenade ill never know... made him almost no threat at anytime if you had one on you... that was sad! After the train scene however it really felt like the rest was rushed, and i would have much preferred a tentacle nemesis form first, the dog like form should have been his third form, and maybe the big final nemesis could have been a fourth! There was so much missed potential... One positive however... The remade metamorphosis theme was INCREDIBLE!!!

carlos conde The pre rendered back grounds of the original with an HD mod look terrific. Both games have very good environments. I would have been shitting bricks walking around the Spencer Memorial of R3make. The Hunter Betas were having the time of their lives.

I like the old version better it’s like you had more areas to go to then the remake but don’t get me wrong the remake was excellent there was just so much more they could have done just my opinion and I wish they had kept nemesis’s old outfit because the new one looks like he’s wearing black gorilla tape for a shirt

The game was rushed 100% nemesis 1st form is fine in the remake but the 2nd was truly awful it felt like i was fighting a boss from a completely different game. Re3 never needed a remake it needed a remaster with updated graphics that's all but nope people will keep pushing this remake nonsense.

@@dp7165 oh i will the reason I'm complaining is because the remake has the potential to be one the best games ever it has alot of good things about it. But just like every modern day game it feels stripped down I'm not hating the game just for the sake of hating it. Developers could and should have spent more time expanding on the game and it would have been fantastic.
