One thing I would like to say that the greatest smallest detail Capcom has put into this game for the weapons is when Leon fires his gun, you can actually hear the trigger reset for the handguns. I’m sure some other weapons can do it too

I don’t think it’s the trigger reset I’m hearing, but it’s probably the spent casing hitting the dirt or hay. When I did use any pistol whilst in the castle, I’m certain I did hear the brass casing hitting the floor, but no trigger reset sound.

@@skhifekazuki Almost every guns, minus the M1903 Springfield (aka Rifle) and Striker do have that spent casing hitting the dirt and hay. It’s quite a unique attention to detail too, displaying different sounds for spent casing hitting different surfaces, including dirt, hay, metal, ceramic and marble. Though the spent casing SFX used for the Riot Gun (Benelli M3 with the M1014 stock) and default shotgun (Remington 870) sounds more like rifle caliber instead of that plastic clanking one, nitpick from me but it sorta works.

Fun fact the developers at the time were always trying to go for very satisfying sounds so that's why the guns and just about a lot of the other sounds in game sound so good

I'd say both of them are great but I think the blacktail is a better gun since it's better at things other than power and the power is not as strong as the red9 but still quite powerful.

@@userisfree The original Blacktail has a large clip and a high rate of fire, and the size of 2x3 slots makes it the best choice, although this pistol is expensive, but it will last a long time and faithfully.

Red-9 is still superior. With stock you can carefully aim even at long distance, RoF at max isn't that worse than Blacktail's.

The pistol in the original re4 is a custom made "hero's weapon", nicknamed the "silver ghost", much like Chris's "samurai edge", and RE7 Chris expansion pack, semi-auto shotgun "Thor's Hammer"

these weapons were interesting in their designs. not too fantasist and still recognizable despite their iterations. a nice mix between WW2-era guns and more modernized ones. here's the real names of these guns: handguns: Leon's Pistol (aka Silver ghost): hybrid between an HK USP and a Ruger P94 Black: Springfield XD (which is an American variant of the croatian HS produkt pistol) with FNP9 grips hybrid Red 9: Mauser C96 (9mm version , as indicated in the famous 9 in red on the grip) a relic of the two world wars, the most unique pistol in its design Punisher: FN Five-seven (use 9mm for gameplay purpose) Mathilda: HK VP70 (a homage to RE2 like the cop outfit for Leon) was a revolutionary polymer pistol in three burst Broken Butterfly: Hybrid between victorian era revolvers (interesting how Capcom will have that fetishism about american wild-west revolvers as seen later in RE8 village ) such as Colt Army and S&W N3 Schofield Killer7: i though it was a LAR Grizzly , but in reality it's just a normal Colt M1911 in 45 ACP. with a laser sight to imitate the 1911 seen in the other Capcom game this gun took its name Handcannon: Smith & Wesson 5000 with integrated laser. one of the latest variants of S&W revolvers line and the most powerful Full auto SMGs: TMP: The same name as in real life. it was made by the austrian Steyr. they stopped to make the gun three years ago (because the gun was judged unpractical to shoot and Steyr sold the gun rights to the swiss Brugger Thomet which will make its own version, the MP9) before the game was released so this explains why Capcom put its real name in the game Chicago: a Thompson M1A1 but which can be modified with 1921-28 styled grips and barrel Sniping rifles: bolt action rifle: a WW2-era Springfield M1903A4 , normally use 30-06 Semi-auto rifle: HK SL8 with G36 sights shotguns: Ada's Shotgun: Mossberg 500 in Serbu shorty configuration Wooden shotgun: Remington 870 in Express combo variant Riot gun: Benelli M3 , only fired in pump (the real gun can fire in semi-auto too. with a B-M4 stock Striker: a Armsel protecta in reality explosives weapons: Rocket launcher: RPG 7 with PGO scope grenades: the green ones seems to be based about M3A4 concussion grenades, the red ones about AMN14, the blue doesn't have holes to emit flashes and just retake the same model. hope this was interesting to read

The Killer7 is actually an AMT Hardballer, which is a 1911 variant. Same gun used in the Terminator (1984).

The Tommy gun on the Gamecube used to reload a lot faster. The GC Minethrowers mines used to detonate a lot slower and reload faster by default. On GC on Assignment Ada never had a knife.

I was always fascinated with the Special Rocket Launcher. I know that the only difference is that it plays a unique cutscene for the final boss but it says in its description that “it fires a special rocket”, which made me wonder what did Ada put in it to make it “special”.

Ada didn't put anything in it, the rockets are just created special from the factory, aside from their appearance being red, they can do twice the damage that regular rockets do, which is why the SRL is useful against bosses

Semi automatics don't really have a rate of fire. It's as fast as you can pull the trigger. Full auto guns fire rates depend on a lot of factors. Springs, barrel lengths, gas systems, weight, ect.

All weapons are viable in their own way Handgun - 5x Headshot Crit Rate Punisher - 5 enemies penetrated Red9 - Raw power, almost as powerful as the Killer7 Blacktail - If you want superior handling and less recoil, this is the gun for you. Matilda - 100 capacity, this can be the replacement for the TMP if you're lacking TMP ammo. Shotgun - Powerful in all ranges Riot Gun - Same as Shotgun but slightly more powerful Striker - 100 capacity per reload, might be good or bad depending on your shotgun shells remaining TMP - Better with stock for that stability, assuming you have a lot of TMP ammo Chicago Typewriter - Better version of the TMP, its ammo just easily kills Broken Butterfly - 50 power, this is why we call it Broken. Killer7 - It's viable and versatile despite not having exclusive. Handcannon - One shot kill almost anything Bolt Action Rifle - More power than semi auto Semi-Auto Rifle - Faster rate of fire than bolt action Mine Launcher - It's very good against a horde, upgrade it and it's gonna be a day full of fireworks PRL 412 - *Flashing Lights Warning*

It is. In both the RE2 and RE2R, that's Leon's starting weapon. It was only named "H&K VP70" before they finally gave it the name "Matilda".

I don’t think it was the trigger reset you’re hearing, and considering that Hectorlo’s testing the guns in the village, it’s possible that it may be the spent casings hitting the dirt or hay.

@@killbuzz2424 I’m sorry man. I don’t really like to disappoint people, but it’s what I happen to notice. If it’s a trigger reset, should be something I could hear from MW2019’s crisp SFX which I find it to be a lot better in my opinion, than MW2022’s as the latter seems to lack that meaty punch that it makes with most of the guns.

My guy the 1911 is a semi-auto pistol which is incapable of being single or double action as it's not a revolver, the only 1911 in the game is the Killer7, and the only revolvers in the game are the broken butterfly and handcannon, I believe the broken butterfly should be single action as it's a very old Scofield, but the hand Cannon should be double action because I think Smith & Wesson 500 Magnum (the inspiration for HC) is double action

The 'original' resident evil 4 would not have the buffed version of the upgraded weapons that is reflected here. The blacktail did under 4 damage, the red9 did only 5, the rifle 18 instead of 30, etc. Also, the laser gun behaved differently on the GameCube. The knife had a different (better, imo) sound effect, and the handcannon did literally 99.9 damage and not "infinite"
