Agreed, I recently played through it on steam, then hooked up my CRT & Gamecube, took few mins to adjust but the lighting is so much better in the OG version, reloading on rifle feels smoother too, just little touches, only gripe is that it runs 30fps on Gamecube, still prefer it overall though.

I think that since the game was made with low res in mind they could get away with adding less detal since you cant really see all the imperfections. Once you have more res you can see a lot more,

@@tostadorafuriosa69 Nah, imperfections are not even a problem but some scenes look different on the original like in 2:13 where the ambiance look a bit different at the far side like you can see brush there on the PS2 version but not on the HD versions... Also, colors change a lot on the higher resolution which also ruins the ambiance...

sebastianali Dices que es peor la de pc por que la versión de 2007 no tenía soporte de teclas en pc, y en verdad era complicado acostumbrarse. En la versión de 2014, los controles si están adaptados a dicho pc y son mucho más cómodos. Igual, depende cada quien donde haya jugado más.

Nah, rather stick to the PS4 version. GC was the first version I played but when I got my hands on the PS4 version, I didn't want to keep the GC version so I traded it in. Definitely love playing RE4 on my PS4, but damn do I wish the Island script was changed to keep the horror elements intact. After the Castle, the game started to feel bogged down with action and felt like a war game instead of horror/adventure.

I played the shit out of the GameCube version, and I think the XBOX 360 version captures it the best in the HD realm. The XB1/PS4 ports are aesthetically pleasing for sure at 1080p/60, but they don't control or perform quite right. With the solid 60 frames, I found a LOT of accelerated animations and bugs just from them being tied to the framerate that was then doubled. QTEs and the jetski sequence had it the worst though, just... ugh

It's good to own the Gamecube version for collecting purposes because it's the original release. For actually playing I prefer the PC version with RE4HD mod, it's very good looking, runs on 4K 60 FPS and the load times are practically non-existent.

Las versiones de gc ps2 y wii se ven asi porque fueron diseñadas para pantallas tipo crt o de tubo, y al tratar de ver con pantallas de ahora: de tipos lcd o oled se ven muy mal

Ninguna es peor (excepto por zeebo) ojo comparando NGC Y PS2, yo me pasé ese juego en cada consola y si, en NGC tiene "mejores graficas" pero en ps2 si biene con separate ways y el traje especial 2 y en NGC no (sin mencionar lo tedioso que era cambiar al disco 2). En NGC solo viene con Mercenarios Assignment ada. Y tienes razón en ese tiempo no nos preocupaba tanto la potencia sino el juego en todo su esplendor. Entonces para mi y para muchos es mejor jugar RE4 en Nintendo 64 ok no PS2 GANA ESTE VS.

Si, yo la he probado en ps2, pc, xbox360 y GC, y esta última se lleva a todas por lejos, además que era más cómodo jugar con el mando de GC porque podías girar rápido con la C

Si tienes razon sobre todo el tema de texturas diseñó de personajes sombras etc yo noto que la version de WII ,PC hd, 360 son un port de la version de PS2 eso si con lo que le falta a la version de PS2 en el escenario y para mi version de Gamecube es la mejor lejos saludos.

I think the real issue with the ports of RE4 and those other games you mentioned had more to do with botched controls and other weird issues.

It looks the worst out of all of the versions since there’s no shadows or fog to make the game look nicer and the controls were botched as well as how weird they were

play 2014 pc release with the hd project mod, they basically go so far as to find original sources for textures, redo them 16x the resolution and put them back in. pretty much makes the game look perfect without worsening or changing the tone

Claro. Es que es así. Los videojuegos como no llegaban como mínimo a 720p sus fuentes nativas eran monitores de tubo de baja resolución. Y por eso los juegos se ven excelentes, mejor que remasterizarlos para verlos en una 4k. Ya que así hace que la imagen se vea tan limpia y aumentada que las texturas y demás se pixelen y no se ven bien hoy. En cambio tu conectas una PS2 a un TV antiguo y te pones el juego, dices WoW que bien se ve este juegazo.

Y ni hablar de la gamecube, se veia muy bestia tambien. Me pregunto como habria sido varios juegos de la wii si nintendo hubiera seguido por un camino de potencia visual.
