to be fair it’s a demo and when u start the game up it says that it’s still in development so some things might not look right I can see especially on ps4 there’s some texture issues tho no doubt but I’m sure it’ll be fixed by the release date

This is one of the reason i respect capcom as a gaming company. Their optimization to games on base ps4 is always great. Starting with re7. And how re village ran at a smooth frame rate higher than 30fps. And my personal favorite game of all time dmc 5 which i expected would run at 20fps or something yet somehow ran really close to 60 through the whole game even with the vergil dlc on highest difficulty which literally turns the game into a dynasty warriors game

I’m so glad that they actually optimized the game for both consoles, and didn’t use the backwards compatibility as an excuse to make the PS5 version just look like an upscaled PS4 game

@Jaxrayh They probably did it because the bulk of their sales come from Playstation so they felt a last gen release on the Xbox would make them little to no money compared to the cost to develop and port it over.

@RED PK184 I don't mean by resident evil series. I just want to say that how incredible ps4 still could handle new engine games that requires strong gpu. Compare it to ps3, ps4 has a strong build to keep it maintain up to 30fps even the graphic looks shit for certain part. Imagine if it was ps3 after 10yrs? The fps had worst fps dropped of all consoles I've ever played.

Cut scenes looks almost the same in both,ps5 looks little darker in dark and ps4 has some texture delays ect

For ps4 being as old as it is, the game still runs great! The biggest thing i noticed trying the ps4 demo was that further out, when shooting enemies, the frame rate would drop and theyd react choppy. If all i had was ps4, i wouldnt complain at all!

Without a doubt. They are remaking arguably the best game in the series, and they’ve been extremely successful with the other remakes. It’s a good time to be alive seeing resident evil 4 for a 2nd time

Well any good game sells well today! It’s not so much about the game but more about having it released across 2gen hardware, multiple consoles, and more world regions than even few years back. So a good game today has a potential to easily sell 4/5 times more than if the same game released couple years ago. I would like if Capcom made a motion control RE4 remake for the new Switch console! Let’s not forget this game started on Nintendo exclusively!

Its crazy how much content people are getting out of this like 20 minute demo, just goes to show how excited people are and just how great the demo was, gives me hope for the actual release, there are a few little things that bother me ever so slightly like some movement quirks but that's nothing when I admit that i've beaten the demo more than 10 times already.

@exoo-2801they started working on this game in 2020, they had PS5 development kits already. Capcom had a separate real for the PS4 versión.

That PS4 wall texture is definitely a bug.. the texture just failed to fully load. You can see it's trying at some point when it gets slightly better. Then during the next cutscene, Hannigan textures on the PS4 are far better and sharper than the PS5 shot.. so in this case it looks like the PS5 didn't load the textures correctly. Probably a demo issue.

Capcom has a great graphics engine that still optimizes well on older hardware without much sacrifice. Im getting the Series X version and PS4 Pro version because one can never have too much Resident Evil 4.

Everything else on the PS4 version looks decent except that wall lol. I've played it on base PS4 and Series S. The Series S version blows it away but PS4 still holds its own for the most part.

I know people will get fixated on the wall loading issue on PS4 but man honestly this game looks amazing on PS4. You gotta give credit to Capcom for making this even run at all on PS4 and it's amazing it's the same experience with no extra loading zones.

I got a PS5, but... I regret getting it. 99,9% of the games so far are also available on the PS4 and, honestly, the graphics are the same. I don't about 60 fps and I don't much of a difference between 1080p and 4k (specially with all the filters these games apply. They all look super soft, so there's really no different between 1080p and 4k).

It looks fine on PS4 and runs great. I do think, they will polish textures on Ps4 though, as some are simply too low. The demo is simply awesome!

Pretty incredible. I was just playing God of War Ragnarok on my gfs PS4 slim and it looks so freaking good. Of course it's even better and crisper and smoother on PS5 but it's pretty amazing how playable these games are on base PS4. we had a blast and i forgot I was playing on a PS4. Capcom is doing a great job at this too

It's now low res textures, it's a texture streaming problem. Happens on new hardware too but they load much faster there.

The wall thing has been reported on PC, so it's shockingly not a result of the typical slow PS4 texture streaming, just a good old bug. The last-gen version holds up very well in general!

Im impressed with how capcom is handling the ps4 ver. It looks great besides the wall bug. The im liking the ps4 has brighter lighting which i like. Obviously it runs better on ps5 but wow on the ps4. Respect. All shared ps exclusives look good and run well on last gen.

I'm actually impressed, it looks better than I expected though it might suffer drops when there is more going on onscreen like in the village. I'm playing it on Series S and also using framerate mode, runs at a smooth 1080p/60fps

Yeah the ps4 version has some delayed texture loading which doesn't make sense to me even in the inventory with the items

my theory is that this is the first Resident Evil games made for current gen but they decided to make a PS4 version last minute due to the chip shortages

The low quality wall happened to me on ps5 as well, i immediately noticed it and i was so confused. I played it one day later and it magically got fixed, i don't know what happened lol

Neat comparison, but in the future if you're comparing old gen vs current gen, you should record and upload the current gen gameplay at 2160p. If you only capture the current gen footage at 1080p, despite the game running at a higher resolution than that, then the video won't fully demonstrate the differences between the two versions.

I tried capturing it at 4k which I have the hardware to do but obs give me a hard time for some reason when trying to record in 4k

@@RE4-Station you can actually capture in 4k just using the PS5's capture button, as long as you start a manual recording instead of choosing "save clip" Then you can transfer the video to a PC using a USB flash drive

@@apictureoffunction Yes but it only works if you play in a 4K tv/monitor, or some 1080p/1440p monitor that allow you to set the PS5 in 4K. because i have a friend who have PS5 and still play in a 1080p tv, and he doesn't have the choice to capture video in 4K.

Just received my copy of the ps5 today. The wall at 3:28 maybe a bit more high res on ps5 but it comes close to the ps4 version. How come? I did not have that issue when playing the demo on ps5!

Most People really thought current gen graphics is going to be a huge improvement. The major difference is performance and frame enhancement not graphics. Ps4 can still run good looking games, it just depends on developers and how talented they are.

Well for one this video is in 1080p you’re not gonna see the big difference with that resolution or KZfaq. Side by side tho the PS5 and Xbox series X versions live in real time in your living room blows PS4 version away.

Nahh it looks identical cause its held back by supporting old gen, they cant get too far from the ps4 graphics as it would affect their development time, if this was a next gen exclusive this would have look much better, but alot of broke ass sht would whine 🙊

Looks good imo, that wall seems to be a bug on texture that will be fixed on final version. I really cant imagine how loud ps4 will be when running this game.

This is a game that does make sense to play in the newer machine just like Horizon FW, and unlike GOW Ragnarok, that is completly the same across ps4 and ps5, the only diference being the framerate and resolution in that case.

I played the demo on PS4 Pro and PS5, in booth, performance & resolution mode (with and without RT on PS5), on a LG C1. And the PS4 runs excellent. Just textures, and light details are minor, or gone (shadows). So, whoever owns a PS4, but not a PS5, can buy this game with full warranty. It runs in the same level as previous RE on PS4.

Opino lo mismo, esperaré unos días si es que sacan un parche para arreglar las cargas de texturas en la versión de PS4 porque esos problemas están siempre latentes y al menos a mí me sacan mucho de onda, y no ocurre solo en los muros, a veces en el mismo suelo, o en los elementos con los que interactúas directamente, literal a veces se ven de PS3 o peor... Los remake del 2 y 3 se ven muchísimo mejor y no presentan esos problemas en ps4

I see no difference of texture in the cutscenes which is pretty cool and as for gameplay I see very little difference there - except for that wall bug which no doubt is already getting patched and the devs are adding a few touchups here & there for other consoles. Playing this games is gonna be a really good experience I'm excited!
