my original plan was to push one balloon all the way to where Zoe and Mia were held captive, it would've been very cool to bring a balloon to molded jack fight! that video would've done so well

I thought by "take out" you meant "pop", I never expected someone would think of taking all the balloons out of the room :) I must say I was expecting something to happen after popping all the balloons (which I did) and was dearly disappointed at both myself (for wasting my time) and the developers (for not taking the chance to put some easter egg). I mean, they must have known people would try all sorts of things with the balloons. Bastards (I still like them for making the best Resident Evil in a long while) :)

That's called negative possibility space. Its when a game designer leaves room something cool to happen, whether a reward or a Easter egg, but doesn't fulfill that possibility; thus leaving the player disappointed

is because after solving it you get spawned in other map, with the continuation of the story, the balloons are still in the same place, but you are not

very cleaver! you're right. as soon as you put candle on cake, you enter a new script in the game, and the developers decided to erase the balloon's data completely

Yknow, I applaud your sense of commitment and drive. But I’d be furious if that happened to me. I don’t even get to see the balloons floating in the kitchen or cake room after all that work? Fuck it’s almost as aggravating as the fact that we’ll never get a proper sequel to RE4 or RE1~3 style games. Or resident evil outbreak for pc where it belongs.
