You said something significant that I think is very important- the focus on experimental weapons and body horror rather than mythical characters. I really hope that Capcom goes back to this. It doesnt have to be zombies but grotesque mutations would be excellent.

Chris Redfield needs to reunite with Jill Valentine - the true faces of the RE. It's been 15 since we last saw Jill in a main-line game.

I like this idea for RE 9 especially getting the original characters back together. Since RE 8 had a snow setting I’m not sure if they would do that again so soon however, but that is an interesting setting.

This idea of a Lovecraftian resident evil setting along with a combination of John Carpenter's the thing, would really make resident evil 9 apocalypse so much awesome.

At least it'll finish the Mold arc. 123 is the raccoon/Umbrella arc, 456 is the parasite/Wesker arc and 789 is the Mold arc that still needs a more convincing villain

I like your idea of ending the series with the last members of STARS and it being like The Thing.

If they do Antartica again I'd love to see the remenants of Alexia Ashford's base and even be pitted up against Alexia's abandoned T BOWs that have been surviving for decades alone in the frozen tundra.

If CAPCOM wants to end the series then a more adequate finale would be with Resident Evil 10, in my opinion, so that 9 sets up a plot which leads towards that story.

Your thoughts and theory on Resident Evil 9 sounds pretty interesting. I will say, if Capcom were to end the mainline series with 9, I hope they end it on a happy note where all the characters can finally live in peace and live in a world where Bio Organic Weapons and companies like Umbrella, Tricell, and the Connections are no longer a threat to the world. And if they were to do that, I think the last cutscene of the game should be the characters having a party with Carry On Wayward Son playing in the background.

That Antarctica setting with a "flowers are blooming" part. I'd love for 9 to have the most enemy types in the series, perhaps having a sample of each B.O.W from every past game in a catalog of test tubes. Also have The Mercenaries as a separate multiplayer co-op mode that I've been wanting since RE5 and keep updating it as new RE games are released.

For RE9, I'd prefer an urban environment. We got snow with Village. And I don't want it to be last. As long as they don't kill off Chris or anyone else, or have us playing as someone's daughter, I'm good. Bring back zombies, but yes, I also want to see body horror monsters.

I want to see zombies and tyrants again, of course with original characters like Chris ,Jill , Barry and Rebecca, I wouldn't mind seeing more original characters in this RE9 game

If they’re even remotely thinking of ending the OG character’s story they have to have Claire, Jill, Chris, and Leon. You can’t leave those 4 out and end the story. I think it would be interesting to have Chris go out and Leon finds out somehow and follows him. They somehow get into trouble. Claire could go find Jill and they go to find Chris and Leon (Ada could possibly get involved here). My thought would be half a game of Chris and Leon half of Claire and Jill. That said, I have a sinking feeling we aren’t about to see the end of the OG cast.

I've been begging for a *THE THING* adjacent script for a Resident Evil game since RE6 Could the B.S.A.A. have begun using B.O.W.'s several years after they saw how formidable Piers Nivans was?

Highly doubt it'll end, but I can see Chris, Barry, Rebecca, and Jill getting to the end of the game in the final lab and seeing non-other then Wesker himself and his son Jake in a cryotub nearby.

I love the more body horror focus. It’s started with a virus, should end with a virus/genetic body horror. Push the RE engine with enemies that mutate in varying ways like the Thing. That would be awesome and terrifying. You don’t know which variant you’re getting and have to combat (ie, burn, freeze, dismember)

They should make a deep resident evil game where you play as one or some of the umbrella characters and see how everything came to be

I hope that Jill will be playable at the main character on this next game and it will be great if Wesker could be alive(like that all the Stars members will be reunited for a possible end)

I agree with everything u said! Capcom needs to listen and respect RE old school fans and remind everyone how the RE franchise is supposed to be.

I feel like Capcom could close this “timeline” with the OG characters (they are a bit old now, and I think we mostly agree they deserve a break lol), and maybe continue the storyline with a new generation. Maybe some sort of successor/descendant to keep some nostalgia. I think it would be viable too, considering RE7 was able to prove the fan base could take a new perspective, AS LONG as they make the characters feel interesting and able to create a bond with. Definitely going back to survival horror would help instead of fantasy monsters.

Considering capcom has only ever properly ended 3 series in their entire life (the megaman zero, battle network, and starforce series) and even then zero was because inti was thinking of becoming an independent company after zx was finished, with capcom not finishing _anything_ tied to zx, they basically... jumped ship to work on their ips. No i do agree with you there JJ this is going to be the most anticipated game of the world and i really wish to see it all come back....But i don't want the series to end...Resident Evil is gonna be in my heart forever and i'd be both heart broken but satisfied if the series ended like that.....having that flash of memories of all the games i played only to be led up in one final good bye like Rebecca and Billy going there seperate ways....what a heat ache that would be

They're "ending" it, but certainly not the last time we see each of these iconic characters.

There are so many characters that just never came back, not even for a quick moment that I'd like to see back before the end. Just too many of them.

I don't know it kinda looked we are going back to North America. It was NA BSAA branch that used B.O.W. And the leaks suggested the same thing with the ghost town, wendigos and stuff. I don't know how long radioactivity stays after tactical nuke (it is almost 30 years) but wouldn't it be cool if it was in Raccoon City with a lot of RE1-3 characters?

The only thing i loved in RE6 is the fact that Chris and Leon finally met. In RE9 i would love a Chris and Leon focused campaign as the two main titans finally take over the franchise. Or maybe a Rose and Leon story, where Leon is a mentor for her. That would be awesome too.

I think some people forget the Connections has been around since RE4 original. It seems it may have been retconed in the remake but Ada was working for them as a double agent. The connections seems to love their double agents. Resident Evil 7 makes it seem the connections has been around since RE2 so it’s possible that yes they’ve been “collecting” virus, parasites, and all sorts of bioweapons over the years to craft some sort of perfect hive mind army as you describe but it really depends on how much Capcom remembers it’s own lore because it seems sometimes they tend to forget or will time jump and assume you should know.

It would definitely work better if the game/gameplay went back to RE2 and RE4 remakes gameplay and pacing,i personally think that’s the way to go if the series is truly coming to an end and besides it’s better to end it by bringing back all the horror aspects that were so good from when this game series first started~ ❤

I like all of what you said, the only things I'd change is while I want a unique variety of monsters, I also want a return to form with traditional Romero zombies returning along with Lickers and Hunters. Also, I like the idea of "returning to the Antarctic" as that was where Code: Veronica ended and there are STILL unresolved plot threads from that game, maybe they can even re-explore what remains of the Code: Veronica facility? Or MAYBE Wesker's H.C.F. facility is there and that's the settting and Claire is involved as Steve is found there. It would explain how Wesker's men already took his body so quickly.

Co-op reduces the scare factor, it’s about being alone.

We’ve already been to Antartica, set this one in Alaska or even in the Rocky Mountains! Hell, take us back to an outbreak in a large city as it’s happening. Not after or towards the end. Let us fight through the chaos of a city as it begins to get infected and tear itself apart. Then as we’re about to die, Hunk fast ropes in, and carries us away in his big strong Tactical-Cool arms.

What if you were playing with your co-op partner but suddenly they start mutating and attacking you because it was actually a "Thing" type monster that morphed into your co-op partner.

I like your ideas j j and I also like your idea of a Primal, tyrant, that's not really made in the lab but was made in nature. I'm not a huge fan of the whole action scene. But I honestly think the best balance for this new game would be a mix between Pre 4 and post 4.

Remember, it's what HE would like to see. That's not what Capcom wants. It's a fan theory. I don't see them ending the series completely. It will morph and have a revision. But, there's still too much money to be made on the series.

I agree it’s gotta end with the characters it all started with, but you HAVE to have Leon and Claire too if it’s going to be the real end.

It could have ended at RE5 after Wesker's death, but I'm glad they found new ideas to continue the story tangentially with RE7 and RE8. I also appreciate that the characters age in this franchise because I'm the same age as Leon and we're both getting old.

John carpenters the thing and a Resident evil type of game would be a dream come true. The monsters they could make and the atmosphere would be amazing.

I don’t see it ending without the OG 4 Leon,Jill,Claire and Chris getting their resolution in some way. Your ideas were good about continuing the story from where they left off in RE8, I agree they should tie it up. But I will say mythical(fantasy) creatures are actually pretty fun. So I don’t mind them adding those. Also you mentioned Yeti(who is a mythical creature too technically) , it could be caught by the connections and transformed into a Mr. X type entity. Also, I would rather it behaves more like Mr. X than nemesis because nemesis was so scripted it barely even felt scary. What I am saying it should incorporate Mr. X’s stalking just made even scarier. Also it should not be scripted all the time like nemesis. But they have to balance it in such a way that it doesn’t become annoying. A hide mechanism should be their if Yeti can chase us in open grounds because their is no looping and changing corridors to loose it in open ground. So dump holes, wreckage, maybe even large corpses should make for dreadful hiding places from the yeti.

Jill as the main character is my main want. She's been idle too long and has the advantage of being the only one of the main 4 not looking more in place at a retirement home. Unless Capcom creates another McGuffin that deages Chris, Claire, and Leon as well.

I agree with a lot you said, but I personally am happy they mixed scientific horror with some fantasy elements like werewolves, vampires, and powers like Karl Heisenberg's magnetic abilities and bioelectricity. Just because it's a power seen in fantasy doesn't mean it's bad for horror games when explained in a believable way, given limits to what they can do, some side effects would help with this too, and is still a threat you can win against in the right circumstances or if your opponent gets blinded in arrogance or rage. Much like Wesker had done with Chris, he had superhuman physical abilities, yet, time and time again Chris managed to survive and in some ways defeat Wesker because of his arrogance getting the better of him and at times blinded by his rage and obsession with making Chris, as well as Jill, feel powerless to defeat him. Only to be enraged when they actually managed to wound him and FORCE HIM TO ACTUALLY TRY. To Wesker, they shouldn't be able to force him to fight seriously, but the reality is they are skilled warriors that can hold their own against even him. Lady D is another example of this, the way she walks, wears a long ass dress and barely puts effort into her attacks for a good portion of the castle scene shows how arrogant she is, blinded by her power and what Miranda has given her. She never took Ethan seriously until he wounds her with the poisonous dagger that messed up her biological balance to keep her human form. If either took their opponent seriously, and in Lady's D case actually trained to master her powers with a combatant/warrior mindset, they never would have been beaten they way they do in the games. Those powers they wield aren't a bad thing for this, it's all about balancing out who wields them with limitations to their full potential in a believable manner. I imagine Karl could have squashed Ethan like a bug if he honestly bothered to do it from when he turns down his offer, instead of leaving his toys to do it for him, but instead he kept sending him away to come back and haunt him later. Was it a mercy or pure disregard to how tenacious Ethan is? I don't know there, but his mindset was his downfall. It's a good way to handle such overpowering villains with powers that seem mystical, magical, but is written in a way that makes you think 'Oh, okay, that's HOW that works, I get it. That tracks for how things work in this universe.'.

It's time to pass the torch to a new gen. Let our OG's whom have been fighting since the 90's literally IRL in our world and within their own world have a break. They're getting old and frankly as much as I love them and that they still look amazing physically (Attractive Japanese character designs aside) it's getting harder and harder to suspend my disbelief they're still going as fast as they are seeing as they're all in their 40's now. Not to say we don't have full on troopers IRL because we certainly do but it's not as common as this especially for people like Rebecca and Berry. I could by it a bit with Jill having been infected and basically enhanced a little albeit still pretty normal. But what I'm getting at is let them rest. We have a "New Gen" of characters whom are already established. I say this as someone who's been with the series since he was 6 and is now 27 and played all the games and is obsessed with the series still to this day. It's a very important series to me despite how corny, campy and over the top horror scfi it is which is part of why I enjoy it. Not everything needs to be super realistic and take itself super serious. It's nice to have a wacky, fun, and exciting world that lives by the rule of cool but still strikes a cool semi realistic balance. 1. Sherry is now an adult and is one of the few people whom was infected with a viral weapon to benefit from it via advanced healing factor but is otherwise still normal 2. Wesker has his own child Jake who is good and willing to rights the wrong of his father and the first natural born mutant 3. Berry's own Daughter Moria whom overcame her fear of guns and fighting ready to fight against bioterrorism just like her dad and Claire whom she's close with as a family friend having already been apart of Terra Save whom sometimes work The BSAA whom her dad works for 4. Rose following in her dads footsteps of just being a good person overall and the second natural born mutant (natural meaning not created in a lab, via a virus, via a parasite, or raised as a weapon) That's the main 4 just like how the series started with the main 4 that being Jill, Chris, Rebecca, and Berry. I'm sure we could introduce a few others to equal out the replacements for the expanded main cast but the primary 4 are already there.

I agree with pretty much all of this however there are a few things I'd like added. I feel like Leon and Claire should have a role in this final game along with the original Stars cast because their story was tied in with the mansion incident. Even if they come back as a cameo that's fine. Zombies need to come back one more time, maybe they could be more aggressive and fast like the zombies in 28 Days Later and Dawn of the Dead 2004. I also think they should bring back the Regenerators along with the Tyrant. And finally YES hopefully this final game will create a balance between the survival horror of RE2 remake and the action/thriller element of RE4 remake.

There’s rumors that a main character death “ I just hope no one’s gets killed , my favorite is Jill and Chris , but at the same time a love them all they deserve to live and a happy ending , all of them have safe the world a lot of times and there own way. I just wanted Chris and Jill together with kids a son and daughter as for future main protagonist and the others to we need new characters. But I love all of them. I don’t want to end. But I would love a new story and maybe in a future old team again. I dunno don’t kill none of them 😮😢
