D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers, when a mysterious woman thwarts his pursuit. Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is investigating a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, where the cause of the infection cannot be identified. The only thing the victims have in common is that they all visited Alcatraz Island recently. Following that clue, Chris and his team head to the island, where a new horror awaits them. Directed by Eiichiro Hasumi (Assassination Classroom) from a screenplay by Makoto Fukami (Psycho-Pass). Based on Resident Evil, the hit survival-horror game that sold over 130 million copies worldwide, Death Island is a new CG animated film and sequel to Resident Evil: Vendetta. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is distributing the film worldwide excluding Japan Summer 2023.

I'm just not seeing it in the trailer or the promo pictures etc. Guess we will see when the movie comes out. Maybe a scene of her dying her hair will happen as a nod to RE5.

At this point, Death Island is gonna convince me that Capcom is definitely cooking up something for 2 future RE installmet, one of which is their most ambitous project ever - RE9 With Jill, Claire, Leon, Chris and Rebecca all united into 1 team then this is definitely a set up for your future playable characters and also the MCs for RE games, and also definitely setting up for several things leading up to the events of the Winter storyline (7 and 8) You know what? There is another character that we don't know if she is even show up or not unless there was an after credit, the RE "trollmaster" herself - Ada Wong, because there is no freakin' way you gathered everyone for a lame villain with a Vendetta villain for a showdown, like this has to lead up to the "Big reveal", especially we don't even know stuffs like what the is The Connection, and who is Ada work for this time

This film seems to be a continuation of Vendetta, since Maria is back. Also, with an all-star cast and a villain that will certainly be defeated, I'm looking forward to how tense or awkward things may be between Leon and Claire.

But in all honesty I would be thrilled if Leon and Claire realized they have feelings for one another (There was that moment in Infinite Darkness.) and settle down and get to be genuinely happy together They definitely deserve that. I'm glad to see Matthew Mercer voicing Leon again. Don't get me wrong, Nick is fantastic as the younger version of Leon but I do think Matthew voicing the older, more cynical version of Leon is a lot more suitable instead.

Nick tries, but he's the worst Leon until now. Capcom should really stop doing the whole non-union actors for RE. Wesker, Ada and Krauser REALLY sucked in RE4's remake. The only good ones were Luis and Salazar (who had worst lines than the original) and then we get acceptable stuff like Leon and Ashley. Maybe Saddler but he does a weird accent 50% of the time that is jarring.

It’s really cool seeing everyone together and nice to see Jill again post 5. Really they never talked about what happened to her after that. That said… I’d rather this have been a game. This has strong Revelations vibes and this story would have made a good Rev 3. Still I haven’t been interested in ANY resident evil movie or show… well ever end this one got my attention. That’s something.

I've seen the prior two (the one where Leon goes to the one slavic country and the one where the crazy wicked Leon and Chris fight acene comes from, but their names escape me) and I cannot help but be excited, especially considering I just got back into RE by playing through the remakes.

The one set in Eastern Slav republic is called RE: Damnation, the other is RE: Vendetta. Damnation is my favorite of the movies, I've seen both the Japanese and English dub and both are amazing 🙂

You're welcome 🙂 Same here, after I saw Biohazard 4D: Executer and RE: Degeneration I didn't expect much from the movies, but Damnation turned out to be amazing and Vendetta is pretty good as well (My pet peeve with Vendetta though is how Rebecca, despite being a former S.T.A.R.S. member, didn't seem to be able to protect herself and just dumbly stood there while the infected were coming at her. 😅 The fighting scenes with Chris and Leon at the end of the movie make up for it though 🙂). I'm really looking forward to this movie, having Leon, Chris, Jill and Claire (and Rebecca - don't care about her much 🤣) together is a dream come true for many fans and the trailer looks amazing! 🤩 I wish we could get a game with all of them as well, maybe something like RE6? Multiple interwoven campaigns or all of them as playable characters with the others as AI controlled companions? That would make my day 🙂

We finally get to see what had happened to Jill after being brainwashed it was always a big mystery what had happened to her post Resident Evil 5 and since then she was never mentioned again before kicking off the story w/ Ethan so i really hope this movie is really good and gives us answers to Jills backstory

Through Claire, Leon is connected to Chris and Chris connected to Jill. Leon finally meets Chris in RE6. Through the years they have heard about each other, reading each other's files and seen their work, sacrifice and great feats. Just 2 rookies who were unbeknown of each other's existence are now side by side as veterans. Bet your ass Nemesis and Mr.X would need to team up against these two.

It's an animated movie. I have played most of the games and watched all of the animated movies. You probably will be able to understand what the movie is about without playing or watching anything else. It's just sometimes they may talk about something like "the T-virus" or the "Las Plagas" or "Wesker" and you might not understand it immediately like a person who played the games or watched the animated movies. But, each animated still does a good job at explaining what is important to the movie. So, newcomer or not watch it if you'd like.

Did anyone else notice that the plot seems to be built with the RE Revelations in the background? The island, the prison scene, the infested sharks they find on the beach, they're all from the Revelations games :D Either way, super happy to see them all together *finally*, and I really hope they gave Rebecca more time as a soldier because they really messed that up in the last movie. Yes, she's smart and a medic, but she also was a badass in Zero which many seem to skip game-wise.

you can tell this whole movie is basically a product of recycling lmaaaooo they got the Jill model unchanged from RE3make, Leon and Claire are from Infinite Darkness, Chris is from Vendetta, and Rebecca seems to be a slightly modified version of her Vendetta model. The evil villain chick is also Vendetta and the new Dylan guy seems to be a tad cleaner Curtis Miller from Degeneration. The backdrop is RE Revelations 2. This is a good hype fest with limited budget lol

FINALLY! Not only do we get to see Jill meet both Leon and Claire, but we get to see just MORE Jill post RE5. Admittedly, I wish she still looked like RE5 Jill with the long bleached hair to signify that it is her from past that point. Then again, Chris still looks like Chris from RE7, so character designs are kinda all over the place. Regardless, it's great that: A. We get to see Jill fighting side by side with Leon, Claire, Chris and Rebecca. (If we had Barry, it would've been the complete package of OG characters who are still alive at this point) B. Jill just back. Current timeline. Plain and simple. C. It's another CG film which are miles better/more entertaining than ANY of the live-action crap that's been put out there. D. The CG films are CANON to the games. I'm so excited to see this despite enjoying the past couple of CG outings (RE: Vendetta and Infinite Darkness) less than the first two.
