Umbrella logic: Stage a surprise ambush trap in front of an obviously setup motorcycle, so that Alice can be "captured" and "tortured" by the fodder soldiers. Only so she can have a badass fight sequence that kills them all for her to get knocked out after trying to get on the motorcycle afterwards. …Why didn't they just let her get on the motorcycle in the first place?

Bless your hearts for analyzing these, I couldn’t watch anymore halfway through Retribution and I thought I was a trooper. It’s just like Anderson was making shit up as he went along, I’ve never seen anything like it. This whole series of reviews was a blast though.

Ya know... I like these movies, defended them even. I don't think mindless action is all that bad on occasion. I've always separated the movies and games as different universes... But I can't defend this shit. Everything about your review is right on the money. I just would like to say I'm one of the folks that doesn't wanna turn off my brain. I like using it. I actually had to use my brain to play the older RE games, so I don't want to watch a film of the same title that begs me to turn it off. Guilty pleasure, not even? When the series can't keep up with it's own continuity, it's ultimately given up. Just a creation to get money, screw being creative and making interesting characters, right? Once I heard that there was a stunt performer who died and another who was injured just to get this last addition to the films series made, I avoided it. I knew it'd just piss me off. And Yes It was confusing. When the movie Explines That Dr. Marcus made the T-Virus. But in RE : Apocalypse its implied that Dr. Ashford made the T-Virus and possibly the Anti-Virus. I don't know Iam getting my knowledge mixed up.

Fun fact the flying Mutated monsters that appeared in this Movie Are spotted in the final shot of the previous film.

Big goof in this film, I noticed on a rewatch. In the convoy battle, Alice cuts off the Doctors hand and uses it to operate the motorbike (as the motorbike has biometric controls, and electrocutes anyone without access) and starts the bike and rides off, however, in the next scene it shows infected eating the hand she used. Alice stops the bike, and gets off a few scenes on, remounts, fires up and operates the motorcycle perfectly......without the severed hand....without electrocution.......continuity people, eh? I suppose she could have recovered another hand, but that's not shown....

I went and seen this in theaters because of Leon and Ada knowing full well they'd fuck up the characters in favor of Alice but when it came to the part where the licker takes the little girl and Leons response I was beyond pissed. Leon's whole character in game is about saving people, in fact RE6 came out right after and that's all he tried to do in his campaign. I was done after that

The one constant they had going in this film series, thru all its retcons and contradictions, was that her name was Alice and she remembered everything. And then they get to the last fucking movie and she isn’t even the real Alice and she remembers jack shit. Holy God is this a mess! Has any other franchise held it’s audience in such contempt?

The Resident Evil film franchise is a masterclass in how to be terrible at literally every single thing in a film. Writing? Garbage. Acting? Trash. Directing? Abysmal. The action and horror? Literally made for children on every conceivable prescription. These movies do more than simply disappoint me, they absolutely disgust me.

I respect you opinion If you don't like the movie I will agree that theirs problems. There's four Graps that I have with this movie 1.) They Written the cast from the previous Two movies out of the Story 2.) Claire only mentions that she was the only one that was Captured by umbrella . 3.) they gave weaker a Great Deserves , By droping a door on him after Alicia Marcus fired him . 4.) It would have be great if Alice Did save the would by sacrificing herself I mean sure she would be dead but the entire world will be saved . But I guess they have her Survive and then the red queen to download her childhood memories into Alice so that she could have a past I guess that works too.

I don't think some of the animated movies are much different in tone or less ridiculous and out of place to be honest, games like RE 2 and 3 both had incredibly unique and ominous atmospheres, helped immensely by a fantastically sinister and eerie soundtrack that made us feel paranoid, tense, even hopeful. Or could fill us with complete and utter dread and panic without a seconds notice, that was survival horror to me. Leon and Chris doing Gun Kata or whatever it was on waves of zombies putting them in headlocks and using WWE moves and a fight scene where they run around in circles missing eachother at point blank range just didn't do it for me.

I dare say...and I am hoping not...that there might be a reason they left Alice alive even though they "say" this is the last one. Who knows...can't just see them obliterating a movie series making that much money. But...thas as may be I totally agree...I am a special effects painter and artist and when I watch any movie...THAT is one of the things I watch for as well as getting wrapped up in the story and or the meanings involved. And.......oi...all of the effects here--suck...and blow. I do like the 1st and 2nd movies...but not for Alice...for the other characters involved and I can identify with Rayne who gives her all in trying to be right up there with her piers and then in trying to help defend them...gets royally trounced. You could tell she came from humble beginnings and I thought it fitting tribute to her that her last act albeit she turned into a zombie...was to fall up against the very button binning the oversized hamburger with teeth on the train. I stopped watching the series after they killed off Carlos. Also yes...if anyone is seizure prone or has brain ailments...don't watch this twaddle.
