@@anthonyzullo It DOES matter. Its a business they need to maintain, I get that, but its still on THEM to put out a decent product. Putting out an inferior product which has nothing to do with source material is going to lose money and create backlash. Doesnt sound like a company who Id be buying shares from.

A company cannot retain the rights to an IP indefinitely if it isn't being used in business and since the man who owns the resident evil rights isn't the originator of the IP he has to keep making products to retain the rights or they go up for bidding. It's why his wife only plays these roles because all she has to do is these movies. Like the new Batman, that was because someone wanted a new movie and be good, they needed to retain the rights before say Marvel bids on them. Like Sony literally CANNOT afford to sell the apiderman rights because it's the only IP they own that actually brings them money and being scared of Disney's ability to outbid anyone Yada Yada Yada. People forget that this is a business and not just fanservice. Wish people who cared about cinema took the time to look into the backend like me. I find the back end and production much more enjoyable than what's on screen for 90 minutes. Even right there, ever notice movies that are trash are usually always 90 minutes? A studio won't even green light your project if it doesn't pass 90 minutes and it's because that's the projected time a viewer may use the bathroom, miss something, buy a second ticket or get hungry and leave the theater for the same reason. If you want passion projects, I suggest you watch IFC lmfao. But now that you know why BS movies are made (cough cough FOXs X men movies) you know why they suck. They arnt tryna make blockbuster hits, just tryna orevent other studios (cough cough, marvel) from making better ones with the same IP. Jesus christ, imagine if Marvel had the right to Batman...the only reason anyone even cares about the dark knight is because it came out before Iron man and MCU took the field. Looking back, it wasn't that good. You can say characters, we know who, was amazing, but the overall film was trash. Anyway, thought people should know why they continue to get trash film after trash film. It's about keeping the rights, not actually making good content. Kevin understands that if you make fans service content as a fan, the money will come regardless. Also, Disney is the biggest distributor on earth for media, the smaller companies HAVE to cling to these IPs or Marvel will do so good they will easily monopolize their brand and buy any competitors. If it wasn't for Kevin, I'd happily say let's burn the house of mouse down.
