I think one of the most terrifying jobs would be a deep sea welder on an oil rig. Even the real webcam footage of a sperm whale or squid passing by the camera in faint light and deep water is heart stopping. Would be an amazing diorama to see some prehistoric deep sea creature hovering just over the shoulder of the welder and lit up by the arcs of the welding and pale rig lights.

i knew a guy who repaired dams, underwater. in one of the massive, super deep reservoirs in the western USA, he dove wayyy down, and something caught his eye swimming by him. he said he wasn't sure what species of fish it was, but the eyeball was as big as plate, and he was so terrified he immediately went up to surface and quit his job that day. true story

The good news is that marine life absolutely hate the noise from oil rigs. Sound travels much better through water and those things make a bloody racket.

@@bfboobie My guess would be gar or sturgeon, as those can all get pretty large depending on species. If the size reference hadn't been an eye, catfish would also be on the table, but since they tend to have small eyes compared to the body it would have to be a true freak of nature to have an eye that size.

The edge of the resin plate is barely visible. If you shine a strong light on it and look at it close to your face, you might be able to see a little bit. However, since it is still a board, it loses its three-dimensional effect when viewed from the side.

This kind of reminds me of a recurring nightmare that I had when I was a kid, and still remember it today. It was me and my entire class, and we were trying to escape some crazy house. The living room was enormous, like colossal giants lived there. Suddenly giant ghost koi appeared from the walls and were swimming towards us, if one swam through us, we'd be taken. It was really beautiful, but super eerie, thinking back on it.

Nightmare: The water below was cold and unforgiving, and despite my gear it didn’t help. As the murky water dampened any light that entered I could feel myself sinking deeper, and deeper. I looked around for a moment and didn’t see much; schools of fish, towers of bubbles, and the deep abyss below. Then we met eyes... I’d be crazy to say we startled each other as I looked at it, and it looked back. Its long serpentine body wrapped around the entire tank and reached down below where I could see. It’s eyes shone brightly with curiosity and wonder as it observed my every movement. Yet its teeth were cruel and brutal, curved and precise. I made the first move and swam up, I looked back at the creature but it was gone. I surfaced, people were there to help me. As I reached out to take their hand I got one last look under the water. I had found the creature... lunging from the deep towards me.

I have seen other sculpture channels using 3D printers to make their creatures and sets and I am glad that you show us how you make the creatures with clay, wire, and foil.
