Hello! I’d just like to point out that the scene depicting the plane and parachute drop at night is best seen on a bigger screen, and not a phone or small device. I understand it’s dark but it is much better on bigger screens. In fact, the whole film works better on a bigger screen! The sound is also better with headphones, or a surround sound system. Cheers!

There were so many unsung hero's in the resistance. Sadly today the liberation forces have been forgotten and feelings turned to dislike. The price was a huge cost in lives that gave Europe it's freedom back. Lest we forget.

My father fought 1939-1945, in North Africa, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany. He was in 4th RHA, 4th Armoured Division, in North Africa he fought alongside the Free French, and in France, Belgium and Netherlands alongside the Free Forces Resistance. And what did the British and Americans do? Betrayed them on the Vercors, betrayed the civilians by bombing towns where they knew, from Enigma, that there were no Germans based there. But they bombed anyway, so the Nazis would not start to think "Why?"

I was a US Special Forces officer. I recognize some of the footage shown in the movie from my SF training in 1974. Much was classified 'secret' at the time. The graduation talk to my class was given by Col. Aaron Bank, the father of US Army Special Forces and a veteran of the OSS in France. He showed our class a radio he had left hidden in France -- exactly like the one shown in the film. Well done with great attention to historical details.

There was no resistance to occupiers in France for more than a year. The Germans calmly walked the streets of French cities, ate pastries in cafes, and had fun in brothels. Only on August 21, 1941, the communist Pierre Georges shot and killed German naval officer Anton Moser in the Paris metro: this was the first time a Nazi was killed in France. Otherwise, the French willingly went to work for the Nazis.

What a fantastic low-budget war movie! Better than so many other blockbuster movies. The weapons sounds & muzzle flashes are highly convincing compared to some pathetic war movies we've seen. And there was no time wasted with a love interest,as a war movie should be,where the only love is the love of killing the enemy & fighting for the flag. I recommend watching this one!

This was fantastic, can't believe it was posted 2 years ago and I've only just found it, what an absolute hidden gem! Love the docu-drama style of giving us all of the historical context and facts whilst keeping the drama thoroughly immersive. Also massive props for not ruining it with terrible CGI like so many of these films do, nothing takes you out of the moment more than exploding tanks that look like they were drawn on MS paint 😅 this was extremely skillfully done, I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for more of your work. 👏

@@jmtproductions3650 No sir, thank you for the amazing film! I swear these days I much prefer to find indy productions on YT than I do watching whatever tripe Netflix plugs because you can see so much more effort and thought is put into them regardless of budget. Like I'll bet the woodland space you filmed in was only a really small area, yet with creative camerawork made it seem so vast and claustrophobic at the same time. And I can't say enough about the CGI, what you *did* use was done extremely well, sparingly and well utilised, unlike many that use too much and do it awfully. I honestly couldn't tell if you were using blanks in the weapons or if it the effects were added post production.

@@rockstarJDP See I love it when people like yourself get it. For me, the fun in making these films is being limited to what you can use and thinking of ways to help bring it to life on a low budget. For instance, the tanks and halftrack at 30:28 were models I had built when I was younger. I used a green screen and then placed them over live footage of the field. Going to The Channel Islands was worth it as well. The amount of untouched bunkers and weapons (like the German costal gun at the start) just helped set the setting even more. We picked a quiet day to film at the gun battery, it was fully restored with nobody about, it was like being on a Hollywood set for free! I will have to do a behind the scenes breakdown video or a directors commentary for the film at some point with a couple of the guys from the film. Thanks again for the kind words @rockstarJDP, we appreciate it mate!

Also loved the Easter egg you hid in the parachute drop with the navigator talking to the pilot, I recognised it straight away, loved that little piece of detail! JMT Productions: Watched your film last night, and have read all the comments/replies posted thru today (10/30/2019). Just wanna' give you a 'thumbs up!' for your work. I'm a baby-boomer war history buff - especially WWI & II, Korea and 'Nam - and have read several books/watched many movies, documentaries, etc. As noted, I'm a history buff - NOT an historian - and simply try to glean whatever truths and insights I'm able from each work. But 'nuff about me. I really just want to tell you how much I appreciate your and your comrades efforts in this film endeavor. Yeah, I noticed some things that might have been better, but honestly, the big takeaway for me was the amazing bravery of the French Resistance. Talk about a 'David & Goliath' scenario/death-defying risks! Despite any alleged historical & production miscues/lapses others complain about, still, I'm far MORE grateful for my new appreciation of their efforts. Also (unfortunately), lotsa' seemingly armchair wannabees here who let y'all know how you shoulda' - and often by inference, they woulda' - done a much better job of it. I simply want to compliment you and your mates on a job WELL DONE, ESPECIALLY given the production conditions/limitations you had to contend with. I'm an old-school musician trying to figure out how to do simple music vids to put up online, so I have just a TINY bit of insight into your challenges. I personally couldn't have done 1/100, 1/1000, anywhere even close to what you folks have accomplished, and I just want to give y'all HUGE props for what you've created!!! MANY THANKS from a grateful old guy~ :-)

Maybe study history for a minute of your life. The French and their military and government gave up a country supposedly one of the best in a mere 66 days , then you had Paris , never bombed like Rotterdam and London . These wer noble people proud and brave ,maybe the resistance and the Marquis but why not talk about Petain the French traitor the establishment of Vichy France and the collaboration of a nation of gutless in the north and and a traitorship government in Syria , Morocco and Algeria. There were more than a few of both Americans , Canadians and the Brits , unlike those cowards the only group who stood up against Germany for two years and more . So either study history or pull your head out of your backside , your comment shows clearly you know squat but just respond to movies. I can guess where you reside .

Best way to learn more about the various resistance groups in France is to start to visit the areas where it took place. One of my neighbours' father joined the resistance when he turned 18 and was not willing to be conscripted into the STO and sent to work in Germany. We have many memorials to the folk that were killed, and often iy is easy to find their family and friends still living in the commune. However, it is good to remember that (as in any country) some people were on 'the other side' or no side at all, and listen rather than speak, as it were.

Well done Lads. The French get a poor rap by the world as raising the white flag at the drop of a hat, but in reality it was very very different. Even today they are the first to riot on the streets against Govt oppression when the rest of the world is silent. RESPECT.

I've been reading a lot about WW2 lately and enjoyed this film. I was wondering what happened to the French Army during the German Occupation and learned that many of those who managed to avoid capture by the Nazis joined the Resistance. Such brave people. Well done! Thank you!!

Leon degrelle was a french officer of waffen ss u should look him up hes astounding the things he says and how much he believed in Hitler's cause. Which was being free of capitalism and the banks who were drowning them in debt . not the bs narative we were fed.

The French Army was in the UK under the command of De Gaulle. Do some research it's not hard.

@@johnlister8145 oh wow you are on a rampage here! You clearly can't have a discussion without a nerve being touched! So was every single French soldier in the UK then yeah? Because from reading his comment, he said "many", not "all". Instead of telling people to do research, maybe you should calm down, and not bring whatever is going on in your life cloud your thinking on a YouYube video comment section.

Always fascintated by these films about the WW2 and what went on in France etc, there is a museum to the French Resistance in Paris very close to the Opera House, never got to see it, would love to go back just to visit that place.

About the "French Resistance"in WWII. The most effective resistance units tended to be the Communists (lots more discipline and better organization). De Gaulle and his followers hated them and vice versa...
