I was there! Lined up literally 2 hours before the concert started because … I just knew lol and I was right the line was hella long. And I didn’t lose my spot during my bathroom breaks! Phenomenal performance though. I was speechless and that’s next to impossible for me. I wept like a child over my late night IHOP dinner lol

Me too! It was my first time ever hearing the UT Wind Ensemble in person. Something about being in the front row with all of that sound and a direct view of Junkin's conducting genuinely changed me as a person. I will never forget the drive home and how inspired I felt.

This was the best band concert I have ever attended. I had so many goosebumps by the end of this performance. Truly incredible.

An unforgettable night, I have not been moved by a piece as much as I was then. Amazing.

I remember hearing people say how the line snaked all the way to the registration area… and snakes some more. I only saw part of the line. Thanked my lucky stars I lined up 2 hrs ahead of time.

Is this the go to transcription of this piece these days versus the Duker one that has been played for decades? It seems like all the newer performances use this transcription

So... no view of the antiphonal brass choirs in the back of the hall?
@josephemerson4559 Жыл бұрын
and no mention of the fact that the entire antiphonal brass was the cavaliers hornline

@@josephemerson4559 No kidding, right? A real failure to get some good publicity here.

Oh them Cavvies. They totally changed the way I want to hear the horn countermelody in the finale. Those sustained notes adding extra power to the horn rip is what got me.
