I began watching Nikkie Tutorials when 'The Power of Makeup" brought her to my attention. At that time I was grieving the unexpected death of my 25 year old daughter 2 1/2 years prior. I cried everyday and was deeply in grief. Looking for a way to occupy my mind in a positive direction, watching Nikkie, focusing on her methods of makeup application, her notions and suggestions about specific products, how to do brows, for example, was tremendously helpful. With her humor and quirky little quips and her amazing expertise I felt encouraged and began doing my own makeup with care and concentrated attention. I'm no Nikkie and I'm kinda old, but taking the time and effort to learn what works best for me, applying it with care DID help me. For one thing, I had a reason to stop myself from frequently weeping - I didn't want to spoil my makeup! I think everyone around me started to feel hopeful about my state of mind. It was a turning point for me. I absolutely adore Nikkie (from when I first met her through 'The Power of Makeup' and until this moment) and am so proud of her for being herself and inspired by her mom too. Congratulations, Nikkie you are one powerful Vrouw.

I never really learned how to do makeup. I'm a 43 year old, fluffy, high functioning autistic and I got shown (kinda) how to do my makeup once when I was in high school. I also have to say that I love how many little girls from conservative homes and families in The USA that have been allowed to watch your channel but not allowed to watch manny, Jeffrey, Patrick, Nikita, and James because they are lgbtq Gurus. These people have watched your channel for years and loved your positivity and your age appropriate content and all along they’ve been supporting a trans woman. If you had shared this early on I don’t think your fam base and platform would have been the same. You have literally showed those people with closed minds or those that struggle to understand, that your gender is not at all a big deal because it’s your heart that you pour in to the channel and that’s what makes it easy to relate to you and makes you so easy to love. As a trans girl myself, I’m pre-transition right now and I’m super super scared to do anything about it because my mom isn’t that understanding. I have to wait till I’m 18 to ever get close to an HRT conversation with a doctor which will probably bring me to start at 19 since it takes awhile for the therapist to even confirm I have gender dysphoria.
