The quran commands three prayers a day, the hadiths commands five. Why do Muslims obey Muhammad rather than Allah? What's worst of all is that old Allah only listens to prayers during the last third of the night. So, at best, only the early-morning (predawn) prayer will be heard by Allah.

@kumarules118
@kumarules118 2 жыл бұрын
When you are used to eat 3 meals a day, your body needs to adjust to the change, making you super hungry and exhausted. Hence the overeating during iftar (it's so common with fad diet, making you gain weight instead) It'll go on about 3 days until your body slowly adjust to the new meal schedule, but the thing is with muslim fast you are also abstaining from water which makes you obviously tired from dehydration no matter how used your body is to the practice. Also, coffee is an appetite suppressant so it is common for people who drinks it throughout the day to only eat little.

Just to clarify about your statement about Malaysia, Mc Donald's doesn't shut during Ramadan here. Its open to the non muslim's however they have these signs up, to 'inform' the public. However there are muslim restaurant that do shut down during the month because they are not willing to cook and be tempted I guess? Thats not the bizarre part, fasting is suppose to be between you and God Here they have religious police to go about and police muslim's. They will catch those who break fast, those who are caught in bars, etc etc But your point is accurate, many do it blindly not because they want to but because they are forced to. Ironically Ramadan is suppose to remind them of the less fortunate, pray and seek Allah... on the contrary Ramadan is known over here for buffet deals and food markets when they break fast. You can see muslim's crowd these places to stuff their faces. I remember one absurb news where non muslim students were asked to bring their food and consume in the toilet because muslim students were fasting. Yup I kid you not, its brain dead administration. @@madrassaboy5389 (a carpet) is just a note from translator. Are referring to Yusuf Ali's translation? AlQuran only said "spread" or "stretch" specifically. For the meaning, please learn proper tafsir. There are many tafsir but many inclined towards the opinion that the confusion of the flat earth theory supporter comes from their misunderstanding of the meaning of the word al-ardh. When Allah SWT use the word al-ardh, it means the soil or land that we see and travel on. They misunderstood and considers the word refers to the earth as a planet. This is in accordance with the methodology of understanding the Quran as have been stated by Ibn Kathir in the prolegomena of his commentaries. (See Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Azim, pg. 4-5). Hence, the words used, which means flat or level are just their literal meaning, but the contextual meaning from the verse is different. Scholars discussed this already from a thousand to hundreds of years ago even among the salafussoleh. Most sided with earth being sphere in shape. Our scholars were amazing mathematicians and physicist at the same time, buddy. They even have books on planets distant and so on. Hundreds of years ago.

How do I know? I know because in our "white" culture, in our European Christian or atheist societies, our parents didn't tell us since we were babies that if we don't do these ridiculous, self-destructive rites and rituals we will burn in hell for eternity and will be punished severely by God, and more importantly we did not grow up in a community where literally everyone we know in our family, our friends, our neighborhood, our colleagues, everyone is spying on each other and telling on each other for not complying with even the smallest of these silly mental health and overall health damaging rules prescribed in Islam. Lent fasting (which isn't practiced much today) was not fasting as in meaning no food. It was the elimination of various foods for the 40 days. Surprise, surprise the foods eliminated were those that were not available at that time of year in Europe. No meat, dairy and eggs. One meal a day, fish could be eaten as well as peas, beans, grains. Notice hens stop laying in winter, cows give less milk, what meat available (usually a pig) was slaughtered in Sept. and usually used up by Feb. (although the peasants rarely had meat at all but lived on porridge made of peas or grains). Today, since the 60s people who observe Lent either give up a bad habit such as , smoking or cursing etc. for Lent, or they make a commitment to do something positive for Lent, such as, visit a nursing home weekly and play cards etc. with residents, volunteer at a food bank or a homeless shelter 1 day a week etc. The clergy suggested that one could better show one's devotion to God not by sacrificing/punishing oneself but by undertaking something positive for others for Lent.

From the view of reality - i.e. the actual, verifiable and very real effects of fasting - the objective is quite clear. It's - again - the exact same tactics offsetting the exact same response, and it's a practice evoked by "the higher ups", the leader, the controller - the titel changes with the circumstance, but the methods, and the end goal does not. And they all do it fully aware, and with full intentionality. Be it a destructive cult, an totalitarian autocratic regime, an authoritarian religion, an abusive relationship, or a destructive workplace. But - as a nevermuslim (as never I was , so never I am, and never, while my mind's still sound, for sound of mind, will I ever become one either) - with an interest in religious practices (primarily from a cultural, and historical stand point), and religious doctrine as part of the historical human experience: these elaborate stories that acted to tie us together in groups, that became city states, that became nations... These narratives that acted to explain the unexplainable, to create order in chaos, provide a feeling of safety, in an unpredictable and dangerous surrounding; narratives that served to provide a sense of belonging, importance, and the crucial element of the group. Narratives whose words were married to physical actions - rites - and became (birth) magic; control and power - one after the other, building on each other - off each other: raising up, and tearing down - laying ground, molding strata, casting hierarchy in every corner of the base. .... But I digress down (one of) my personal favorite rabbit holes (got to watch out for those: there's only a short distance between a rabbit hole, and a rabid hole...). Please, forgive me! I did actually have a question, and I promise: no more diversions - not even a single rapid rabid rabbit ravine rerouting! My question is: from a religious view point - [I'm sad to say, I'm not English and - at least at the moment - I don't know, or don't remember, the correct terminology. What I'm after, trying to explain the essence of it rather than the actual word, I'm thinking in terms of Justification | Purpose | Religious doctrine | Teachings| Scriptural backing etc.] ... In other words: what are the _claimed_ purpose, goal and / or event for Ramadan according to Islam? And if it differs between the various branches of Islam, I'd love to know how they differ and why. Of course, realizing the potential for it to be a behemoth of an engagement and task to answer these questions fully and thoroughly, I completely understand if that is the case, and either way: If I get an answer - any answer - to any of it, I'd be very happy and grateful! (Truthfully: with the amount of nonsens I - as I'm, unfortunately, prone to do so - have managed to spew out all over this thing ... and apparently continue to do - I'm happy for anyone just reading it all and _not_ coming away with a feeling of being robbed of something. Kind of ;) ) Anyway Stay Safe, and Stay Sane! Cheers!

@@FriendlyExmuslim that's obvious. But for the sake of intellectual honesty, you haven't yet evaluated the whole rationale of fasting according to theistic belief in its proper historical context, vis a vis the first appearances of Islamic religion in the world. The rationale and significance goes far beyond the most raw abstinence from bodily nourishment, mandatory praying and fear of punishment for not following the rules. In fact, fear of punishment for not fasting from food is completely wrong, in the actual foundational Judeo-Christian context. But that is precisely the context from which Islamic religion derives all its knowledge and understanding about most matters relating to religious belief and also practise. You should look into the subject of Great Lent in original Christianity, which unlike Ramadan is solar oriented and so culminates in Easter Sunday each year, within the range of mid to late spring depending on the particular calendar calculations in a given year. It's a 40 day fast, which is the most obvious similarity with Ramadan, but the theology behind it in Lent (and methodology as well) is almost completely different. You should look into it.

Can we really call this fasting? Most Muslims I’ve known eat a breakfast of some sort by American standards, then they don’t eat during business hours and then at sunset pig out. I wouldn’t call that fasting. That’s just skipping a meal. Let’s be honest here. If you are fasting, you’re either not eating the entire 24 hours OR no more than one full meal a day. Now that’s fasting. When I didn’t have much money, I ate one meal a day. Was able to work, be active, hang out with friends, while my stomach can be heard miles away. Did I walk around all “exhausted” no, did I walk around looking for everyone to make concessions for me? No. I sucked it up, and kept on moving. Let us look at the truth, shall we? “Moreover when you fast, don't be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Matthew 6:16 Strange, who does this sound like? Tell me again how Jesus isn’t the Truth, the Way, and the Light?

Was the Prophet of Islam an Atheist? Yes the heading will certainly raise some eyebrows but please bear with me and be open minded as I present to you an unconventional but certainly probable exposition on Muhammed, the final Prophet. According to Muslims, Muhammed was a 7th century Arab who received revelations from God through an angel intermediary over a period of 23 years, thus forming the basis of the Quran - a scripture containing all the revelations. But this is where we run into problems. When you open the Quran and read these alleged "revelations" (from an ALL knowing powerful God) you encounter the following irregularities and discrepancies.... 1.Verses originating from myths and legends (Syriac Legend of Alexander and The 7 Sleepers of Ephesus) 2. Verses originating from rejected apocryphal biblical and gnostic sources (The Infancy Gospel of Thomas) 3. Verses lifted straight from the bible (Universe created in 6 days, Camel through the Eye of a needle) 4. Verses that seem to serve the personal whims and fancies of Muhammed (who he can marry, which wife he can spend more time with, war booty only for him.. etc). 5. Verses that keeps repeating immoral intercouse with married female captives.(4:24, 23:1, 70:29, 33:50 etc) 6. Verses that undermines the status of women. (beat them, testimony is worth less than than that of a man, 4 months seclusion) 7. Verses that are confusing and strange (3.7 basically says the entire Qur'an is unclear and if try to understand it you have a disease. 3:81) 8. Verses that places a bizarre emphasis on sexual pleasure for men (and Jinn) in the afterlife (55:56). 9. Verses that provide zero context or explanation (Who is Abu Lahab?) 10. Verses that repeatedly confirm the inspiration, preservation, authority and authenticity of the 7th century bible even though Muslims insist it's been corrupted from the 1st century (3.3, 5:47, 7:157 etc) 11. Verses that are completely wrong on how it depicts science, biology and cosmology. (All alleged scientific "miracles" can be easily refuted using Quran itself) 12. Verses that challenge the reader to its Divinity even though the same challenge can be applied to any book in history. 13. Verses mostly end with a threat of punishment or humiliation for the individual who doesn't submit. 14. Verses that practically copy and pastes it's moral laws from the Jewish Talmud and other scriptures.(5:32-33) 15. Verses that has nothing new to say so just repeats the same thing over and over again. 16. Verses that quote biblical characters as if they're 7th century Arabs. 17. Verses that are contradictory (no compulsion in religion vs fight those that those who don't believe) 18. Verses that start and end abruptly, arranged haphazardly and gives no context. 19. Verses that have zero benefit for mankind and if removed affects nothing. 20. Verses that are different to other versions of Qur'an so its not 100% perfectly preserved (Hafs vs Warsh) .....and many more. Looking at these issues objectively - one thing becomes absolutely clear - the Quran could NOT have come from an All Knowing and Perfect Divine Source but rather a human/s making standard fallable errors, taking many years to perfect it, but still falling short. >>>So what type of human scribe is this? If this author believed in some kind of Deity or Higher Power that judged him according to his actions, he would NOT be as brazen, confident, arrogant, shameless, narcissistic, fearless and determined enough to fabricate this entire verse revelation fallacy. He'll be far too afraid of the repercussions, yes? Therefore the ONLY conclusion that one can draw is that the author/s of the Quran MUST have been an atheist or at the very least agnostic with zero accountability or culpability for his elaborate campaign. (Notice how the Quran keeps saying - "there is no blame on you" for immoral verses such as 23:1-6, 33:50 and 70:29-30. >>>Now why is the Qur'an essentially a book that implores people to believe in a God that he personally did not believe in? Muhammed noticed one thing that with the Jews, Christians and Pagans and all other groups, that motivated his campaign. The ONLY thing guaranteed to get a large amount of people to follow a single cause is through belief in some type of supernatural Deity that can't be seen or heard. It's the belief/faith that He/It is there that matters. And then proceed to make up countless promises of eternal bliss if you submit to this Deity or a torturous eternal punishment if you don't. How do you think the Christian missionaries managed to spread a complex 3in1 belief that no one understands so rapidly? >>>What was his end game - if not to begin a new religion? Belief in "Allah" is just the deception. The ultimate goal was subjugation and control to get people to submit to your will on the pretext of being a Prophet where you have access to vast amounts of wealth (jizya) and assets (war booty) and copious amounts of sex slaves but do it on the pretext of a Divine instruction. This is what "Allah wants" but ultimately it's me who gets it. (His own child bride Ayesha even declared - your "Lord" rushes to fulfill your desires). Wow. Over the next next few hundred years Muhammads status was honed, shaped manipulated and fabricated into the "best of creations" where he has now achieved an almost God like status, occupying a position closer to your average Muslim than his/her own mother. I'd say he was something of a 7th century religious cult leader many of whom typically still practise their "craft" today.

People fasting and just for the health sometimes. You are saying then is hard? Well, if you don't like don't do it. Is not about forcing you do do or belive something. Belives comes from heart. So you don't try you don't are Like. So what's is up? Is not Islam problem. Is about your heart. So ex? You never been one.
