Response to Ron Paul / Stansberry Research

There's a video going around (early 2020) of Ron Paul talking about how the coronavirus response is being used to undermine America. This is my response. The Ron Paul video is really just pitching Stansberry Research books and newsletters. It's an infomercial. Be warned, but if you want you can watch it here:

Notice that you can't skip ahead or look around the video, they force you to watch the whole thing if you want to find out what it's about. This in itself is suspicious and makes it harder to directly address and debunk the content.

Just a note re TB: All the folks that volunteer at a hospital, nearby, and the staff therein, get a mandatory TB test each year. Doubt this is an isolated measure. So, there is still concern around this, as well...and precautions being taken. ~ j

The COVID death count is inflated. Almost all deaths this year have been considered COVID related regardless of how it happened. (Pre-existing conditions etc.)

COVID-19 deaths are underreported. The overall death rate from non-COVID respiratory causes or unexplored deaths is about 50k higher than it was in previous years. Also, pre-existing conditions don't eliminate COVID-19 as a cause: if a diabetic person gets COVID-19 and dies from a respiratory infection, that is a COVID-19 death. I have friends and relatives with diabetes, but the only one who died is the one that got COVID-19.

How can a number of deaths be reported accurately if no pathophysiological analysis is conducted of each death? Sorry sir but your claim of 50k+ unexplored deaths is correct to some extent until you realize that almost all suicides and deaths unrelated to foreign antigen possession are considered “COVID deaths”. Would you like some non partisan sources to back this up? (Ex: George Floyd’s death was considered COVID related.)

the comparison to previous pandemics is wrong not for the reason cited. in fact, as Nassim Taleb has shown, our elders knew how to respond to pandemics. you do not know what is coming so you hunker down and get ready for the worse. you check what is happening outside, once ear to the ground, so to speak. so never mind Ron Paul. blessings to all

Economies must remain open for the sake of our well being and needs. People may need to adjust behaviors but that should be on individuals not the government.

The economy did fine with basic precautions in place. Do you feel that traffic laws should only be on individuals and not the government?

Well, all the data is in and no matter what anyone did, the virus did its seasonal thing.. Seasonality was the key. Even to the exact day as last year for peaks in some states, no matter what the government in those states did.

I wanted to comment on your response to the Black Plague. The population of Europe during this timeframe was around 80 million. Of the 80 million people 50 million men, women, and children died. Now compare that to the COVID numbers. Europe now has approximately 745 million people and just over 200,000 so called COVID deaths. The COVID deaths have also been primarily elderly men and women, and not younger adults and children.

If your point is that it is a ridiculous comparison, I agree. It was presented by Dr. Paul as valid. I notice you used the highest estimate for the plague, but then go on to say "so called COVID" deaths as a rhetorical means to deflate the numbers. You're obviously not approaching this with the goal of truth. Also, nobody denies it primarily kills the elderly, and I'm not sure why you think that makes it less concerning. We don't need something as dire as the Black Plague to take precautionary steps.

You actually believe the data we have on COVID deaths? There are so many holes in how the data was collected. The truth is the World was right to take precautions, however it never should have shutdown. There are so many more implications to shutting the World down then what the powers at be stated.

It is true, I heard other doctors do their own research and come up with the same conclusions. I rather believe doctors ( the honest ones) than regular people and politicians !!

Doctors don't do research. Medical researchers do. How do you tell if a doctor is honest or not? Is it the ones you agree with? Or the ones that agree with medical research?

Thanks for the saved time. I realized it was bogus but in the interest of being open to many voices I planned to listen a bit more than the initial couple of minutes. Now I'll save the time would likely regret having given ear to such bogus view.
