Praying for a better situation for Kin's only child in 2018. Her keepers can only do so much to keep her reaonably exercised and fed at this point. What is her future? We pray she will not be condemned to this routine and unnatural environment for the foreseeable future. Compare her to cousin Marumi at Maruyama!

Thank you again Yurimi for your response to my comments. I just pray that all the animals and their keepers at Kushiro survive the terrible freeze. Does the zoo have a system set to protect the animals in such circumstances? How many animals fail to survive these conditions every year?

Thank you again for responding to my comments. I can't believe that savannah animals e.g. lions tolerate Arctic-like climate for a long winter season. However, the oppressive summer heat in Japan is, as you point out, a greater threat to many animals, including red pandas. I live in a very mild climate area of the US---Northern California, so climate and weather extremes are a bit scary. Why is it taking so much time to give Kin's little girl a formal name?? Without a formal name, we tend to think the animal is regarded as a "nobody" and so we give our pets names as soon as we adopt them and give strays in our shelters and even the streets names as soon as we can. I hope Kin's little girl receives as super good luck and blessed name SOON!

Can pls don't grab them just by the neck, its a bit rough. It applies to all kinds of animals. Thanks! 👌🤗❤

That is how baby mammals should be grabbed and that's how their mothers hold them in the wild. It is baby panda's instinct to go limp when his mother carries him. This allows for safe transportation If baby panda was crying or wiggling, it could injure him or his mom/keeper. Mother panda also grabs him by the scruff(grabbing by the neck) to get him to stop doing an undesirable behavior, like nipping or biting. I know it looks harsh but it is the safest way.

The slap on the head and grabbing looked aggressive and unnecessary. Specially in the beginning with the girl smacking the panda on the head. Very strange behavior.
