For all those people calling it a travesty against Canada, wake up! You already have teams in most major cities. Players are already asking to leave cities like Winnipeg and Calgary, how'd you think it would fare with Quebec City? You'd have several annual Eric Lindros situation, that's whats up. The NHL is a business who together with the franchise owners, are trying to maximize revenues, so there will never again be an NHL franchise in Quebec City.....

You know actually having Matthews play the next 5 games might actually be better for him. ( only if he's 100%) I say this bc it will be abit of a build up of alittle anxiety...some pressure on him to make it to 70. Might lesson the butterflies abit going into the playoffs. I would like to see Robertson in lineup. I just have a feeling the guy will find away to get to the net and score one for them. I can't say the same for alot of other guys on team. These guys really struggle and do not know how to drive to the net. They should watch some legends from years past like a Mario #66. That guy was elete at that man. Watch his playoff games.

You guys already mentioned that rested teams perform worse than teams coming right off of a 7 game battle, so let him play. The leafs feeling like they need to prove their culture by sitting him is just admitting that the concerns are real. 💯

It always makes me laugh whenever someone says "There aren't enough good players to support more expansion teams." Even average players are so much faster and more skilled than ever before. Disagree with expansion if you want but it can't be based on a supposed lack of talent.

there is a difference between giving out a stupid contract and denying greatness based on a vague theoretical while having failed in 9 playoffs before with plenty of gas left in the tank. Which is another difference - never once did this team fail because they were "tired". That's exactly the problem with Toronto - people don't know when to chill and when to get serious.
