When my mum died 12 years ago, I had dreams / nightmares (depending on your point of view) that she was still alive for months. Every time I woke up was like having it all happen again. I still have dreams about her coming back to life once in a while, but they aren’t as traumatic anymore. I usually just find myself happy to be with her again, and when I wake up I’m just happy that I got the time again. The grieving process is hard and I am starting to think it never really ends. It does get less painful though, so … there’s that.

I've already said it and I say it again: these videos involving a human loss are always edited so tastefully. It's hard to loose a family member so every help counts. It's awesome for all those people getting involved, wanting to help no matter time or money. Dave always has the golden hand in assembling exactly the right crew... 😎👍

You all rescued this family in so many ways. Thank you for taking on this extremely difficult project. Thank you for leaving crash site pristine. Nature is sacred and essential. These areas must be protected and preserved for the future. God bless all of you, as well as Wayne's family and friends.😮

Over a year later and this story still gets to me. Thank you, so much, for taking this on. I learned of your helping this family after an extensive and exhausting campaign to try to find locals to help. It pained me to see so many in the aviation community, not want to get involved. Thank you, again for your work.

@@Redacted341 Is it? So, he never said that in the vid huh? nice. Must be one of his paid employees? So that means I had no way of knowing that he was giving proceeds to the family therefore my point is validated. Using death to promote yourself is wrong even if you are not getting paid on this he will gain subs and then money from that. One way or another, I find it disrespectful to the dead.

This hits very close to home for me. My dad crashed and perished in his Lancair Legacy in the El Dorado forest in May of 2011. He was supposed to arrive at our ranch in the afternoon but never did. I had the unfortunate burden of getting the process started of trying to locate him. Initially your thoughts go from one of hope that maybe he had to divert to a remote airstrip without any services where he can't get ahold of his family to hoping he's not cold or trapped in the plane and its just a matter of time before he's found alive to the shock that someone has found the wreckage and no one survived. Getting that personal effects bag all sealed up and touching the very items your dad had used bet perished with is still emotional for me. sometimes I will look through his logbook and see the trips we went on and reflect upon it with happiness. It took SAR volunteers 48 hours to find the crash site. All of the things in this video regarding the banks and accounts needing a death certificate to continue paying bills or accessing the money are 100 percent true. I commend you, Ryan McDonald with Northwoods Helicopters, the Pateys and everyone who committed their time and resources to helping this family move on from what can only be described as an instant and complete disruption to the their lives which will have lasting effects for many years. Great job Heavy D!
