Not a dry eye here. We love you guys so much. You've welcomed us into your home, your life and for that we are so thankful. Gary (and your entire family) are a huge part of why we are are here and doing this crazy thing here. Every interaction we've had with you all has been such an encouragement to us. He had a way of making everyone feel like we've been friends for years. He took time to show us how to do stucco and how to hang a door. We are so thankful to call you friends and our hearts are with you. ❤

When I first started watching your channel, I gobbled episodes up as fast as I could. It felt like nourishment to my soul. I was raised in a very broken family with lots of trauma and drama and mental illness coming from both parents. Anytime I come across a parent in the real world or online that is full of love and respect, loyalty devotion, interest and joy in their family...I am healed on some deep level internally. Your father brought healing to me in his way of loving you all. Thank you so much for sharing who you all are. I grieve and celebrate with you 🙏

The thumbnail was a kick to the stomach, I can only imagine how you all feel. Naturally there are no true words to properly convey how sorry I am for your loss. I've only seen or met a handful of men that are truly legit men of God in my 54 years.. and I could tell that Gary was one of them. A very admirable man and did a good job with what he was given. The Lord is celebrating his arrival! Thank you for sharing!

Gary made me laugh, I was in awe at how much he knew about everything, his respect & love for his family was so beautiful, but most of all Gary was not afraid to give glory to God and it showed through on your Christmas specials and even year around. If men/fathers/grandfathers would be more like Gary, just think how wonderful this world would be. God Bless your family! You will all be in my prayers! Rest In Peace Gary!

A builder, engineer, inventor, patriarch, internet friend, and comedian like no other. His eyes sparkled with joy. His jokes always landed (or didn't). We knew he cared because we felt it too. He brought sunshine to us at home where we only hoped for a chance to have a 2nd dad just like him. May memories of his love be close to your hearts as time passes. I pray peace fills your souls as you grieve Gary's transition back home. He will be missed dearly. ❤

Rest in Peace Gary, my sincere condolences to all the family. Gary filled my heart with warmth and my mind with honest wonder. His sheer energy and the patience and kindness and many talents, so often displayed, was a joy to watch. I treasure the fact I have enjoyed his many videos during his beautiful life time and thank all of you for allowing me (and so many others) the honour of sharing in some small way the celebration of his life and the grief of his passing. My prayers and thoughts for you all.

I am overly sorry for your loss. I've been absent from your channel and lives for a while now and to see this pop up just rocked me. It can't be so. What a leader, supporter and advocate of adventure he was. I wish you all the best and wish there was more I could do to be more supportive but all I have is words. Keep moving forward!!!

I started watching this channel a few years before the pandemic. Your family helped me through those awful years of isolation when I lived hundreds of miles from family and in an apartment alone. The biggest impact this channel had on me was the father-children relationships Gary had. Going through some really horrible times with my dad made seeing Gary’s commitment to compassionate and loving fatherhood so healing. It just so happens that today I had a meaningful conversation with my dad for the first time in almost 2 years. We were able to talk about the event that caused our fallout and I was able to invite him to my wedding in about a month. I hurt for you and appreciate the glimpses you gave people like me into your lives. Gary lives on in all of our hearts, more than you know. 💚

We have been following your channel for a very long time. I always admired Gary's/your fathers parenting, his love and his attentiveness and love as a husband. He was patient, kind, a great teacher, loving and supportive and of course loved his humour. Even when there was a glitch on certain projects, he was always positive and just worked in the spirit of grace to find solutions. Working and living together as you all have was and is so inspiring and such a blessing to all of you. If there was ever a man to emulate, he was one. Thank you for the beautiful tribute to Gary. God bless and much love to your family.

I am a Catholic convert and grew up without a father from the last months of my being 14 in 1993. So I respect God's work for His Children. . .as felt Him with me as a teen to adult...through all the changes this country went through. I truly believe in the peace of those that love Him, their work and life and spirit - goes through into eternity alright in the end. Loss of life is real, but may you feel the Creator Father's Presence and Guidance with you (from Whom all things come from). 🕊💌✨

What an incredible legacy Gary left behind! Such a beautiful soul who lived as Christ calls us to live! What an honor it has been to see how he cherished his wife & family. Coming from an abusive, wounded childhood & marriage, watching him & your family was & is so healing! To know that goodness, grace & love does still exist brings me such peace. My heart goes out to you all & you are eternally in my prayers. God be with you! 🙏🏼❤️

Oh my gosh!! I’m 65, and I’m sobbing like a baby!! I’m retired with a disability (back) and I have Breast Cancer. I was diagnosed in March. So it’s still pretty new. Watching Gary go through his Cancer treatments (crying over it all) and watching him beat it, he’s been an inspiration to me. I’m hurting for you all. I wish he had lived long enough to see his dream shop be finished. He poured all his creative knowledge into his family. I have no doubts that it will get finished and it will be something he would be so proud of! I’m sending you all hugs and prayers. Okay, I’m gonna go have another cry. Can’t help it. I love your family as if you were all my family. And I’m hurting for you. ♥️♥️♥️

To add to what I said above, I genuinely had a hard time getting through this video and cried through most of it. If that gives any context to his impact, this is coming from a 37-year old self-proclaimed “tough guy” who doesn’t cry.

I am both shocked and heartbroken to learn of Gary’s passing. He was always such a bright personality and lovely to watch. My favorite thing about him, and what reminds me of my own father, is how goofy he could be at times, and it would always bring a smile to my face. I’m saddened to think of how much he’ll be missed. He leaves behind such a wonderful legacy in each and every one of you. May you have peace and comfort in the days ahead. ♥️

My goodness. My condolences to you all. Gary, I want you to know that you are loved and missed by all you touched. Your family and friends, the military community, and the KZfaq community. We have all had the opportunity to be mentored by your patience, knowledge, and love. Through your videos, we've been able to see what a loving father is, what a capable talented craftsman does, and how a patriot acts. Most of all, we got to see how a respectful, loving son acts toward his father and his savior. Thank you, Gary, for being Gary. May God bless and comfort you all.

I stumbled across your amazing channel 3 years ago I think. Watching you all work together, so happily to create all those fabulous earth houses was really something else - the kind of family we all dream of being a part of and the most fun & incredible “village” to call home. Your Dad/husband (Gary) was just so capable, so inspiring, so funny and so loveable… and your Mum so attractive and such a wonderful wife/Mum…. Life is so precious.
