Absolutely agree to this fee. If im going out for dinner, paying a lot of money for a meal, the last thing anyone wants is have to put up with someone else's brats. If you can parent your children, its not everyone else's fault. Leave them home!

Parents need to be parents. My sister and I never misbehaved in public. My dad would have spanked us just that fear kept us in line. Some parents simply don't parent or explain to their kids what's acceptable and what's not. Most Kids can follow rules. If they have autism or are on the spectrum they are still capable of learning a lot over time.

There’s a simple solutions to this 1) Simply refuse to patronize those restaurants that allow this 2) Restaurant owners do as this owner does and charge extra 3) If the child is acting unruly and parent insist on displaying their neglect in public … make them pay for the offended parties meal. 🍽️ 4) Train your children to behave in public. That’ll end everything

I have had other people’s children climb up in my booth, and a few whose kids reach into my plate and take what they want. I’m not talking fast food but fine dining restaurants. I expect parents to tech their kids manners and control them!

If your children can’t or won’t behave in public it’s the parents fault. They should be charged the same as the total bill amount. I was one of 9 children born in less than 10 years, we respected our parents and others when we were out. I always was disgusted with the behavior of children and their parents that seemed oblivious to their disturbances to other diners or in other situations. If your child missed their nap don’t go, if you can’t control your child you have NO business taking them out in public. You are a selfish narcissist subjecting others to unpleasant situations and should be refused if you attempt to enter again.

I agree. In the past 10 years I saw a woman change her baby's diaper on top of the table in a restaurant, another time I saw a teen girl texting, painting her toenails at a table, parents did nothing. Raised my kids in the 80's, I felt there were certain restaurants you dont take your kids to out of consideration for others that planned a quiet dinner out. There are restaurants better suited for taking kids but regardless, parents must teach children of all ages manners and consideration for others. If they are not feeling well or sleepy, be a responsible adult and parent instead of an entitled @$$hole. Just because YOU want a margarita, stay home, dont take your kids out in public!!

I agree. You're accountable for raising your kid. If they act out of hand, you should be charged if you don't talk with them, and convince them to act appropriately. If the kid is well mannered, no charge. People would only be upset with this charge if they raised monsters, and don't want to be held accountable for their shitty parenting.

Any business has the right to refuse service to anyone or charge for any service they render, including having to deal with adult adolescents and their minis. It's their responsibility to run their own biz. Food tastes are subjective, ambiance is subjective, style is subjective, etc., etc.. there's no problem. Have you ever waited tables with sizzling hot food & children are running up & down the aisle. Trying not to burn yourself let alone the child & other patrons. Children running up to random tables and grabbing food. Children just throwing food all over the place and on the floor 🤦‍♀️ jumping up & down on the tables or trying to jump to next table with other patrons and thier food on the table. @@user-fd6jx6rw2y That’s a good idea! I’ll share something that happened to a very good friend. My friend & his now ex-wife have 2 boys together, both boys are grown now. When the boys were very young their mother used to discipline them by telling them both, “if you don’t cut it out right now I’m going to tell your dad when he gets home from work!” Truth be told he never spanked or laid a hand on his boys, but by saying that to the boys their mother made the boys afraid of their dad. I rode to and back from work with their dad and several times when their dad walked in the door the boys had already pee’d or was just starting to pee all over themselves. It took a few years for him to figure out why the boys did this. Needless to say they got divorced but it took several years for the boys not to be afraid of their dad. True story, just sharing!

The fact that they think it's fine for kids to not be seated, and run around in a restaurant without disturbing others tells us all we need to know. You all aren't parenting. It's not okay to let tablets, school teachers, and TikTok raise your children. You're their teacher and nurturer, they should be respectful and seated in public. Tell them no hitting and no yelling at each other, because it (along with tantrums and back talking) has become very common. Do better and there wouldn't be a trend of no children under a certain age allowed virtually everywhere. I don't agree with this trend but I understand it, children are becoming very unruly and disruptive.

If the restaurant has to clean off the table n the floor then yes CHARGE!!! Teach your children how to eat when out, or leave them home!! I never knew what an issue this was until my husband and I will get our bill and it would say "paid". The staff was so amazed at how three children could eat and not leave the floor nasty that our dinner was often the compliments of the restaurant that we visited. Teach them to behave!! The woman anchor is wrong. Some children DO learn manners and how to act in public. Those kids and families should be allowed to eat there if they choose to. You do exactly what this restaurant is doing and saying, if your children do not know how to act in public then we are going to charge you an extra fee. This creates one of two scenarios, they stop going and thus other patrons do not have to put up with bratty kids or you teach your children how to behave in public. The anchor woman's solution is akin to a few bad apples. Don't punish everyone, punish those who are poor parents.

I waitress at Applebee’s in the rain Ohio and we had people not watching their children treating it like Danny’s. One group of parents put they’re kids in the booth behind of them so they took up somebody’s tips so they’re taking up two tables. And their children colored all over the wall smeared food everywhere it was so disgusting. we had to get out vacuums sanitizer and we had to basically scrub the two booths down. In the middle of a restaurant where it was policy that we were To minimize vacuums running and things like that because people come there to get away and have a good time and enjoy adult life. This happened many times after 7 o’clock at night. After a while the police had to start coming in and making sure everything was peaceful. There were five of us kids in my family growing up and when we went to a restaurant no matter what type of restaurant it was we had to clean up and pick up after ourselves. And we had to have our best manners being practiced. There’s nothing wrong with that. But it cost extra work on somebody else who makes four dollars an hour or less is total disrespect

The thing is... there needs to be some guidelines for workers though. Kids can be loud, and restless. But if they throw food, scream, and run amock are differently. Should just ban kids from the place even if it's just for certain hours of the day. What would stop the waitress from adding the fee just from getting back at a bad tip? I'm for it but there's no way the rules can be applied properly. Because there are no rules set by the restaurant and everyone parents different, including people that don't have kids and have a viewpoint. My daughter being wiggly in her seat, and giggling or laughing loudly shouldn't be charged extra for being a kid. So will loud obnoxious adult groups be charged extra too?

@@rayy__7630 hell no i wouldn't. But who's making sure the rules are properly followed for the customer? An employee could have a bad day and an excited kid could be too much for them, or someone who just doesn't like kids. Where are the rules so that parents don't just get penalized for just bringing kids? I've worked retail and after seeing half a day of bad mannered kids you just cringe the minute you see one more. Especially around the holidays, that or entitled parents. There should be a "your a b****" fee too 🤣. But yet again. How to prove that's the case unless the manager has been made aware. In general i just feel like there is a lot more that should go into it than just one person's opinion that works there.

3words... Small Claims Court. This restaurant wouldn't stand a chance enforcing this 'fee'. It's too subjective to put a quantitative dollar amount on. Even if they based their fee on other patron's complaints this policy is still too subjective. A few times losing in court and having to pay court fees will end this restaurants bad parenting fee pretty quick.

If they’re having a tantrum in public then as the parent and a responsible/respectful adult they should be removing themselves with their child from the situation and leave out of respect for the others around.

Yeah! You can't tell a brat to sit down! How dare they! So what if the wait staff is carrying hot food and Junior wants to run right at them! So what if your kid throws food at other diners? Let them run at will, too!@@happyvapor4670

I have a 4 year old with autism... It would be illegal to charge extra bc you dislike her behavior. While she's normally good sometimes we let her watch a tablet as she is picky and finishes eating before everyone else and gets bored

WARNING!! DO NOT TAKE ANY KIDS TO THIS RESTAURANT!! The fine is too subjective. The grumpy owner doesn’t like kids. He fined one family when the kids were on tablets waiting for food. I’d pay it, then get my credit card company to dispute, and remove the fee, and I’d win. There’s no way the owner can prove his claim when kids are sitting nicely at a table, then run around outside. Put up signs outside if u don’t want the kids to play outside, even supervised. No, no way I would pay the ridiculous fee. I know some parents are irresponsible, but there needs to be a better way. Like parents need to videotape the family so u have evidence of no misbehavior. Lol.

Why badmouth the restaurant? They should have charge double! You are probably one of the parents of the unruly kids. Write your your congress person Margorie Taylor Greene.
