My mother had a red Belvedere with aluminum racing mags, 12"wide tires on back. It was the envy of every hot rodder in town. Never seen one like it since. Thank you for the nostalgia.

This was probably the most detailed model I have seen in a restoration video. Driveshaft turning with the wheels; torsion bars, the whole shebang. Great finished product. Very impressive.

im just sitting here jaw wide open looking at the detail of that model. The fact it has a working rear diff! had spring suspension and actually sprung hood hinges! I can see why you buy certain diecast models for $20 and others cost $200. I don't think I've ever seen such a detailed scale model before, certainly never had my hands on one.

I've never seen a Highway 61 model in that bad shape. Nice work! As a model builder I'd do a black wash on the grille to add depth and maybe some body color overspray on the chassis. That model is a replica of a 1965 Plymouth Belvedere factory drag race car, pre-delivery.

Curious,, what designates it at pre-delivery?
@rickr442
@rickr442 3 жыл бұрын
These were purpose-built, Hemi-powered drag cars, usually delivered in basic white or a primary color. They were expensive due to their equipment and hand-built status, and ill-suited to street use, they were almost all converted to liveried professional drag cars. IIRC Highway 61 modeled a never-raced specimen for the replicas.

My parents had a very similar car when I was a young boy. It was a white Plymouth Valiant and it had a push button automatic transmission.

@@robertvalentin5846 Never heard of that model company but given I'm from the UK that's not surprising! Cheers for the info! While not cheap they're far from how expensive I thought they might be given the precision of the scale and the 1st class details. I'd love one!

В начале она выглядела намного реалистичнее и интереснее, на мой взгляд. А после реставрации стала как обычная игрушка.
