A photo-video of the restoration and street-rodding of a 1952 Willys Wagon. Documents the disassembly of a 1952 Willys Wagon and its reconstruction into a stock-looking street rod, complete with a Mustang II front end, Ram Jet 350 small block V8, 700R4 transmission and Currie Ford 9 inch rear end.
The photos move along at a consistent pace, but viewers can pause the video if they would like to study a specific photo longer.
The finished wagon was featured in "Classic Trucks" magazine twice: initially in the February 2004 issue, and then again in the "Classic Trucks Trends" the "Annual 2004" wrap-up for the year.

Wow what an awesome job you did on your Willys! I'm working on a total custom Willys myself. You gave me some real incentive to get mine done. Thanks for the great picture story. I've taken lot's of pics of my project. Maybe I'll get them on KZfaq some day.

Hello Phil. I am restoring a 1960 Willys Wagon Parkway Conversión (the one that has barn doors) in Mexico. Congrats on your restoration, it´s beautiful. Recently, me and the people who is helping me in my project are unable to watch your video... i thought that it was a country restriction but i can watch it on my work´s laptop only. As a favor, can you please check your KZfaq restrictions so we can watch it again in Mexico? This is the best video for someone that wants to restore this great vehicle. Thanks in advance...

+Manuel Rubio Manuel,Thanks for the comments on my 1952 Willys Wagon. I did log on to KZfaq and double checked my settings. I have all my videos set to allow viewing "Worldwide" and in the "restrictions" setting I have it set as "No" - meaning that I have no restrictions on it being viewed. So with those Worldwide and No restrictions settings, I do not understand why your regular computers would not be able to view the video on You Tube. Could there be any problem with your computer's connections that your laptop is not having?I hope you will be able to view it, but from my end, I have it available for Worldwide viewing. +PhilnRuthie Phil, thanks for replying. I´m going to check again. By now, i can watch it from another computer but still can´t on my Smartphone (stange because with it i can see your video of the Little caesar restoration) Best regards from Mexico.

Correct that is why the title to this You Tube video is "Restoration and Street Rod-ing of a 1952 Willys Wagon." The video chronicles both the street rod-ing aspects as well as the restoration aspects to create a "Resto-Custom" or a "Street Rod" or whatever you want to label a vehicle that has been pretty much brought back to near show room condition esthetically but has been modernized to be able to drive - and tow a vintage travel trailer - on busy and unforgiving California highways. Thank you for viewing my You Tube on this neat old Willys Wagon.

I would like to know were you bought the mustang 2 for the top hat frame.

I bought it from Heidts. It was a universal kit. Welded on heavier steel plates to the top hat frame then cut and mounted the Heidts universal kit. You can see the steel plates in the video if you stop it in that section. Hope that answers your question.

Beautiful restoration job but the colors are wrong. The brown panels were lighter, the pale trim should be a warmer buttery cream and the hood/roof should be a burgandy.....other than that...it's gorgeous. I had a 46 and 57

Anthony, I understand about the repower with a small block Chevy, but to tow a vintage trailer on California highways, the little 4 cylinder F-head just would not be safe or practical. My other Willys was a 1950 Jeepster, and I kept it all 100% stock. Hope that helps. Phil
