A lot of people ask why we don’t show our finds cleaned up after every hunt….. I hope this answers your question lol. I do this with almost every bottle we find so it’s a very long process but it makes our bottles look so much better than a quick rinse with a garden hose! Hope y’all enjoyed and thanks for always supporting the channel!

Thank you for preserving the past by cleaning these classic COKE bottles and bringing them back to their original lustre!!!! I love the older drink bottles....up to the 1960's, that is. Again, great job, sir!! Thank You!! (Tom)

Thanks for showing us the Cleaning of the Coke Bottles ! We also know to cut off 3mm Copper Wire to 3-4mm long and have the Bottle filled with that "Copper Shot" to 1/3 full and add Water to just above the Copper Shot Level ! Now to put Your Hand over the Opening and start shaking Up - Down and Side to Side and all our Bottles came out clean - but not the Scratches as we don't have a Tumbler ! Just another way to clean the Inside of Bottles ! Nice Video and many Cheers from us in Australia!!!!

Brandon , just a heads up on that ladybug . I live in Gadsden and a few years ago my girlfriend's house was swarmed with ladybugs around this time of year . She was cleaning up dozens of dead ladybugs inside her house every day and had no idea where they were coming from . One day while I was picking up some pine bark that had fallen off of a dead pine tree before I mowed . I looked closely at the tree and began pulling back the bark . There were hundreds of ladybugs living there . I cut down the tree and she never had another problem . If it becomes a problem for you then get rid of any dead pine trees close to your house .

I use a product called Acid Magic, a " Muriatic equivalent" from City Mill hardware. I've had some fabulous cleans, and other less so. Painted bottles are a crap shoot. I made copper gravel with wire and wire cutters that I use from time-to-time.shaking it inside bottles or scrubbing with a rag.. I use my judgment cleaning, and haven't really wrecked anything.

Brandon , thanks for sharing . I was watching another channel where these guys found 15 unopened hutch bottles under a tree stump at the edge of a river . None of them were cokes but they were concerned that the government may get involved because of the possibility of cocaine inside the bottles . The contents were different colors which could have been the different flavors available .

10:16 I'm glad I found this video. I have be collecting bottles for years but I do have a question about a milk bottle that was given to me recently. I've got it cleaned up the best I can but it's has a white discoloration on the inside that I assume is from sitting in water for a long time. My question is, what is the best way(if any) to clean it. Didn't know if I should try to get a tumbler or if the acid would do.

I've got a question, when putting bottles through a tumbler you mentioned it takes a layer off the glass. Is it ever the case that the embossing can be effected by that, like removed possibly?
@adventurearchaeology
@adventurearchaeology Жыл бұрын
If you use the wrong media or cutter it is absolutely a possibility. 1200 grit is a slow cutter that helps prevent that from happening but you definitely do not want to forget that they are running on a tumbler and leave it on for weeks haha!
@robbybobby6466
@robbybobby6466 Жыл бұрын
What grit did you use for these? 600, 1000? You mentioned carbide so I’m thinking 600. 1000 is aluminum oxide correct? They did come out much cleaner.

Just to confirm, you don't dilute the acid with water? (I'm hoping that's correct because diluting it, as so many people seem to do, only takes it's strength away.) Will straight muriatic acid hurt the label on ACL bottles?

I’ve seen a change in where lowes and home depot keep the muriatic acid. I used to see it in paints. I haven’t seen it there in a while. It has been moved outside in the gardening area. Maybe a new law not sure if it applies in every state. I only mentioned because not many of the employees seem to know where it is. I hate getting the runaround. When you run that wire brush in the drill use a cream made from the polishing powder. It works for me. Just be careful of the overspray it should not get in the eyes.
