I had my Omega Seamaster serviced by the Swatch Group and they didn't refinish my case nearly as good as you! In fact, they told me beforehand they couldn't guarantee the same finishing as factory spec.

A few years ago, when I had my 1971 Flightmaster serviced here in UK, they replaced ALL the colour-coded pushers with plain pushers, telling me that was the way that Omega had authorised them to do it. They ignored my protests. It cost me over three hundred pounds to replace them - having found some new/old stock in Australia on the usual on-line market.

Amazing case work! One question - the sunburst. You already seemed to do it on the lapping wheel, then did it again on the belt? Can you please explain this? Kind regards, Jim.

Thanks Jim! I pre grinded the dimensions to flat surfaces on the lapping machine and used the belt grinder only for the finish of the sunburst grinding pattern. Best regards from Germany Daniel -Vintwatches-

How would I inquire about having an Omega Flightmaster case restored to its original splendor? Also, is it possible to recreate the laser etching of the DC8 on the caseback?

Great work! Very impressive! I have an old watch of my grandfather that am looking to renew. The watch is an Atlantic worldmaster 61660. It needs a new glass, crown and grinding (polishing) of the cage. Will reach out to you for a price if you can.

Nicely done, it's not a Jedi though. Reference 145.0024 was nicknamed Jedi by Chuck Maddox. The mix-up with the 176.005 was simply caused by an error in an auction catalogue.

I know what you mean I think. Because not the original finish… I find that a bit of a peculiar thing. Because some collectors decide that they rather have a blotched and scratched original finish than a beautifully refinished case. I know what I would prefer on my wrist.. and I think it’s better and more of a hommage to those beautiful watches to wear them, as to stash them away in some drawer as part of a collection. Just my honest opinion 😊

I thought you was going to dive into the movement with the many many many pieces, screws, gears, clutch/s, more screws, 1000 jewels, ect et al. That movement was given to me once when I was a beginning watch engineer (never made the cut) it made me cry! How that movement is not called a ‘complication’ is beyond me. Great restoration & video though.
