Restoration of a rusty dagger. This rusty knife was given to me by a friend to restore. The knife is handmade but not finished. I decided to improve the guard of the knife. I removed the rust from the blade and polished it. I hope you liked my restoration.

А нашо алюміній оцтом заливати?) Гарда капець(була)…як ніж з майнкрафту чи шось подібне. Хіба що не доробили.

Клинок кинджального типу, а заточка одностороння. Сталь клинка так собі. Гарда надто товста. Ну таке... Хоча за працю-старанність - 5.

Strange. I thought a true dagger was supposed to have both sides cutting, not one ! This looks more like a regular knife blade - or letter opener? The still pitted sides of the blade are ok, but they should have been blued maybe (like you did on the 100 yo knife). The handle was finely restored to a perfect shine. The blade stopper would have looked much nicer if made out of brass rather than aluminum, and is a bit too thick for my taste.

I think that dagger was somebody's somewhat poor attempt to imitate a Nazi dagger. Basically a sturdy enough handle attached to a grotsville thin, crappy blade. Rounding the crossbar a bit improves it, but it still doesn't look evil enough. Oh well; it's functional enough if you don't bend or snap the blade.
