Restoration of Rusty Knife- But What Is It For?

Hello folks! Today I have the restoration of the strangest knife! I see this type of knife for the first time, and I do not know what it is for, at what angle I need to sharpen, etc. please write in the comments if you know. Thanks! Well, let's start the restoration.
First of all, I removed all the plaque and green rust from the brass part of the knife, using a sandblaster. And also removed the remnants of paint from the handle of the knife.
Then I took the knife apart and began the recovery process. I cleaned the old wooden handle and sanded it with sandpaper. Soaked in wax and painted with wood paint.
I have sanded and polished the blade itself. But I did not make new bevels or sharpen them, because I do not know what the parameters of his knife should be. I cleaned the brass part of the knife with sandpaper, I soldered the broken parts with tin-lead solder and applied a blackening agent to hide traces of deep rust and give an older look.
After all the actions, I riveted the knife and did not do the test, I do not know what to do with it. Thank you all for your attention!
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!

That is for sharpening brass cork borers. The cone is to accommodate the different diameters of the borers. You place the borer on the cone, press the blade against it and rotate the borer to sharpen it. These are used to bore holes into corks and rubber stoppers. I used them in the laboratory I worked in. Nice restoration.

I agree with you... Although some people I work with 5 days a week sometimes say I never make mistakes because I know everything about my job... I remind them that "Even I make mistakes," and when they respond with "But you're the best at your job," to this I say 2 things.. 1- "I know my limits and when to call for help because I "DON'T" know everything and don't pretend to". 2- "It's not hard to be the best when you are litterally the only one on the shift and in your department who is fully trained and quallified to do the job that you do..." Although both are true, number 2 is sadly so true that if I call in sick or take a vacation they have to pull people from other departments or run at less than half capacity because they don't have anyone to cover me without depriving themselves of critical support personel... I mean it, If I were to quit tomorow, they have no one to replace me with other than those we need for support jobs that we cannot run without... And I hate it. Not because I don't enjoy the job security but because I hate that there is no one to take over for me should something happen.

Nice job Alex. I agree with the person who admitted they would have unrolled the brass part to use as a pattern to make a new one, because I would have been too impatient to solder the bits of the old one back together. I still struggle to be more patient. If those who say it is for maintenance of rubber laboratory corks are correct, and I think they are, you should not sharpen the blade like a regular knife. It will need an edge kind of like a chisel because the cut will be more or less perpendicular to the blade.

Advice needed! :) - New to restoring metal pieces. What are the names of the pins in the handle that need to be hammered in? I’ve searched and so many different pins or rivet types.
