Finally - after quite some time of teasing, here's the camera restoration episode. It features a Praktica FX2 - a 35mm film camera, intruduced by an East Germany company in 1956. Which means that it is alomost as old as my parents....
I did take it apart as far as I could without removing any rivets and I also kept the actual glass of the lens together. The lens has multiple layers (groups) that need to be properly aligned to each other. I don't have the means to adjust that. I also had to be very careful about the springs, at least one of them broke and I had to bend it back into shape. Still works, despite missing a turn of the coil.
Note. The video is mostly made to illustrate the process and might be too fast for reference. If you have a concrete question, comment and ask! I have about 20 hours of footage... slightly too long for a KZfaq upload :)
