These programs are most instructive and enjoyable. On the other hand, servicing, let alone restoring a Seiko 5, unless it has some sentimental value, is economic madness. You could do it yourself, though buying the equipment would cost a small fortune. The fact is that a cheap watch is de facto a disposable watch.

Mine didn't come with full links. It's just a tiny little tight on the wrist and it makes a mark. The end link near the lug is always vertical since it is holding the watch tight. I'm worried if the strap is going to come off easily and watch is going to fall on the floor! Is it easy to find strap.

I have the same watch I bought new in 1990,has gold hour markers /hands,apart from that ,identical.its been worn in rotation with several other Seiko 5s so it's pretty much unmarked.

Thanks! The tool you're referring to is a lathe chuck. I used an 800 grit sandpaper. 😊

Hey, I don't really understand your question. 🙂 If you're wondering whether or not your 7009 movement would fit in a Seikoak case, the answer is no. Your 7009 movement has the crown at position 3.8, while the Seikoak case requires a movement that has the crown at position 3.

Hey, I broke the glass by mistake. 🥲 I did not service the movement because this is a restoration refinishing video and not a servicing video. 🙂

@@vintagehorlogesleuvenhey what materials used for the glass press? The white one. I thinking of DIY Its a LOT more expensive here by comparison to the watch. Like $15 bucks watch and $2000 glass replacement tool

It's all nice, but you shouldn't have broken the original crytal, because it's very hard to find on the market.

Thanks! To be honest, I broke the crystal by accident, because I used the wrong die. 🥲 I wasn't going to use the original crystal anyway though, since it was heavily scratched.

I've always easily found original replacement Hardplex Seiko crystals easy to find and there are also generic German mineral glass replacements specifically for Seiko's. What's difficult to find are sapphire crystal replacements to upgrade the watch and there it is the chamfer cut that's hard to find, straight cut sapphire crystals of the appropriate size are still easily found. One of the advantages of Seiko watches is that it is a well known brand with a lot of production.
