Clearly the 'finished' car is a different model - the inside of the right hand door is obviously original and not the replacement made in the video! Nice try but ultimately disappointing

Bit of advice for the future, plastic and white diecast alloy (the alloy that most of these toy cars are made of, which is aluminium and zinc), does not rust.

@@jimmccormick6091I apologize in advanced, for this lengthy post but I think it’s important to know. first off, the only things that should show rust is the screws keeping this thing together, but even that is doubtful, because the area the screws were found was still an untouched pretty red paint. Is it any wonder he didn’t display the screws in the disassembly assortment? The material the actual body of the car wouldn’t and couldn’t rust because it’s made of a pot metal called zamac which an alloy of soft metals mixed with zinc and magnesium, etc. Soft metals don’t rust they patina, and this zamac, although will show signs of pitting, again, will not rust. It oxidizes. Showing stubborn hard powdering that’s virtually hard to get rid of without sanding, scouring and plating, even then pitting is still obvious before body filler and paint. But a restore such as this alleged one, need to be plated with zinc, copper, or chrome to help stop further oxidation and cover any further pits. Also, this isn’t an old car nor is it a collectible, per se. This is what’s called a “manufactured collectible”. Where the only thing making this a collectible is the words on the package, though no where near worth more than what it originally paid for. No matter the age. For example: if you bought this particular collectible for $20 its price, at best, will either stay the same or go up between $1 to $5, depending on how old it’d be. That’s a big “IF”, too. Because this car would have to be 100 years old to get any where near the $1 to $5 profit range. Because items that say “Collectible” on them aren’t rare. Hence the name, “Manufactured collectible”. That’s why you’d see such a low profit increase in them after a century because they may not be as common, but they wouldn’t be rare. Real collectibles never have this word on them or their packaging.

Some old models, box in mint conditions and never used nor opened, actually may be worth 250-400€ (300-470$). SURELY no-one will worth more than that unless it's signed by Senna, Schumacher, Ferrari himself, or other big champions, preferably dead.

Why did you only paint the body ? The rest (engine, interior, chassis...) should have been painted too. It would be much more realistic. It's something you can do, as for the wheels with spoked rims, they need to be changed. According to me, it would have been a real masterpiece and not just a good restoration.
